We have such messy snow, ice, and salt on the roads in NW Ohio...best to keep our beautiful street machines in the barn 'til the thaw!

If you can't swim in a lake or river without the fear of being eaten by an alligator, you live in the wrong part of the country.

Things we do in the Winter
1. Ride my motorcycle whenever the roads are clear of snow and ice.
2. Ski
3. Snowmobile
4. Sledding, tubing and tobogganing.
5. Ice Skate
6. Ice fish
7. Load shells
8. Plan summer road trips

I hate the cold and have no problem admitting I'm a wuss about it. I don't have a problem riding in 100 degree heat. Too much below 50 and I'm done. I hate getting bundled up to the point I can't move so I'm not going to take ten minute to get dressed warm enough to ride in the winter, even in the south. Would love to live somewhere that it didn't get that cold, but I don't. I ride from March to October and I'm okay with that. I spend the winter giving my bike a face lift. New shiny parts and upgrade the power for the riding season. If I spend as much as I did last winter though I'll be in the market for a new wife.

Winter means the PMS will kick in - Parked Motorcycle Syndrome... I get it bad, too, when the temps below the 30's and the roads ice up. :mad-26:

Winter means it is time to break out the winter jacket and the lined jeans. When I slip on the jacket over my winter indoors clothes I am dressed to ride down to about 15F behind the fairing I have on any Vision. Helmet and gloves are year around, not just in winter. I have shoveled my driveway to get out and ride on a dry road.

To me it sounds like you need to get the f**k out of Quebec, my birthplace. Yes I lived there from birth to the summer before I turned 16. Anyone who insists on the calendar instead of reality to specify a tire is just brain dead in my book. If there is snow or ice on the road you need appropriate tires and likewise when the roads are clear those tires should not be required.
All stop signs must say Arret and on and on with the silly rules is very short sighted in my mind. I have spent time driving in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein and Belgium and all stop signs said STOP even though it was a foreign language to the people there. Les Quebecois are ignorant in their day to day prejudices and even more so in things like this.

Yup... Last year I saw cops giving ticket to riders before March 15... silly... it was +10C outside.

Darkside won't help... all tires must be winter. Will also need a winter front tire (or ride on one wheel when you see cops... )

If there is no snow or ice on the road... I am out there... And no heated seat/glove or windshield... just my ski gloves that go over the sleeves (most important), warm sweater, leather jacket, full-face and some tropical music in the helmet...

Sorry, but I cannot vote in your poll. All your selections assume we cannot ride in the winter. As long as it is over 20 and the roads are clear, I ride. I'm not a fair-weather rider. I ride whenever and wherever I can.

They make heated grips, seats, pants, vests, coats, gloves and socks. If you are cold, it's your own fault!

A huge difference regarding continued use during the winter is the number of days whether or not you can even see the asphalt during that time. Summer in Canada is defined a two weeks of lousy skating. Winter for the riding me usually means a stoppage in the insurance premiums proportionally reflected with an increase in the bank account for shiny-bits and upgrades.

That case looks familiar on that bench Rylan. Is it mine lol.

Same reason i didn't vote ;) I won't ride if there is snow or ice on the road (obviously) and I am too cheap for heated gear. Of course Va winters aren't *that* bad so layering and hot hands inserts work good enough for me.

Winter means no motorcycle riding for 6 months. Minus 30 or more. Snow. Never ending snow. Shoveling, scraping, slipping, tripping, cursing, a prisoner in your own home until spring. The older I get the more vile my hatred is for this season. Why my ancestors left Nebraska for this is beyond me.
