WOW! I thought it would take at least a week.
Maybe it is time for a new forum..."...Oil: The Untold Story: the fact, the fiction, the fantasy..."

I think that's over at Bob The Oil Guy's forum.....
Can we talk about car tires now? I'm getting bored with oil...

hahahahaha... man, you're hilarious! You should try the fryer oil from Popeye's ... totally gets rid of any "cheep cheep" sounds your scoot makes!
I would have thought it would add to the "cheep, cheep" sound since it's chicken oil. I guess I learned something new today. :D

Oil or not I am riding naked.

I use it in my truck and farm equipment

Which interestingly enough is the only place I've seen the 20W40 weight used until I bought a Victory.... Farm equipment and boats....

If you are a true advocate of synthetic oils, which I am, try Red Line Synthetic. Their motorcycle oils are engineered to exceed the manufacturers specifications. I have used it in every bike I have owned and never had a problem. When going to Red Line Oil the actual composition of the oil is more stable and lubricates better at higher temperatures that other oils. I would go with the 10W40 oil. This allows the recommended viscosity at upper temperatures and lubricates quicker at low temperatures. Red Line has one of the lowest evaporation rates at high temperature compared to other oils. Go here to learn more:http://www.redlineoil.com/I do not work for them but I have performed wear tests versus major brand oils and Red Line Oil has consistently outperformed the competition.

Last night I switched over (at the 4500 mile mark) from Vic oil to Mobile1 4T 10W40 JASO MA rated. I was tempted to try Castrol's full syn 10W40 which is JASO MA2 rated and about a $1.50 less per quart but IMO Mobile 1 is hard to beat when looking at the oil as a whole. A few other brands excel in an area or two but Mobile is consistent across the board.
As for the MA vs. MA2, the MA2 is a bit better for the cats and the MA is a bit better for the engine. Each will do a fine job though.
I'm sure by the time I get back from my pending road trip next week I'll have enough miles with this oil to be able to offer an opinion. I don't expect there to be much difference, maybe a slight bit cooler, maybe a slight change in shifting charactoristics but nothing revolutionary (no placebo affect).

Here's something one can do easily at home,,,,

DISCLAIMER: 20W-50 used in my prior air-cooled Yami

Take your favorite flavor of full syn and the exact same flavor onlyin semi-syn,,,

Pour one at a timein a funnel veeery slowly, just fast enough not to drip,,,

(Pour to the side of the funnel, not dead center)

Watch each one as it 'flows' down the funnel neck,,

One flows right down without any noticable effect in the stream,,, The other 'clumps' kinda like syrup poured slowly over pancakes,,,

Same brand, same weight, just syn vs semi,,,,

Lotsa clearance in most air cooled engines,,, The Yami 1900 was pretty picky about oil,, and how much engine noise you could expect from different types of oil,,, Full syn was noisy, and semi kept its 'quiet' longer than Dino.

We could also discuss using the recommended TBN instead of something less to to help keep your shared-sump oil (additives) from shearing as quickly,,,,,,,

NAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! The syrup test is a lot more fun!!!!

=)
