I found this posted on Face Book.

Finally happened to me , while on a ride 50 miles from home. Thank god there was a Home Depot 1 mile away. It held up pretty good and made it home safe, now time to replace it.

Kind of unusual for it to break on that end. If it happens I've got all 5he stuff in my tool kit to rig it up.

1981 Honda Goldwing, I had some paracord in the trunk. I tied one end to the clutch lever and tied the other end loosely across the center of the bars. To shift, I'd grab the cord and pull toward me for the leverage. This worked to get me home, maybe less than 20 miles this way.

Yep, happened to me on vacation. Broke in the same place that one did. Just happened to break close to an Autozone. They had some cable barrel ends and I had just enough adjustment to get by. Put a Barnett cable on it when we got home.

yep, but I think it is a 1:1,000,000,000 chance as there is still cable/rod and barrel albeit short.

Happened to me about 3 miles from home. I to put Barnett cable on. I also now carry an emergency cable kit in the saddle bag. I compared the OEM Victory cable to the Barnett and the Barnett is more robust were it needs to be.

Have had that happen to me twice on my xr and once on my girlfriend vegas

Had mine snap down shifting at a light and had to pull off the road fast. After a $250 tow I picked up a Sav UR Ride and keep it with me always.

But that's quite the set up you put together!
