I bought a butt-ugly Vision because the price was right....and I couldn't find one I liked.

I want to paint this beast. Looking for ideas (pictures if you can, please) for paint.

My favorite Vision is the orange Ness with black flames.

Here is what we're working with:

I don't have pictures but I have some general principles that might help. One of the reasons I think yours, and a lot of Visions are ugly is because the body work is so smoothly incorporated with every other panel. Then when panels get painted other colors it totally screws with the flow of the lines. Imagine how good the Vision looks as a line drawing on the designers sketch pad, then they went and made half the panels gray. WTF? The best looking paint jobs I've seen have all the panels painted the same color and any theme, like Ness flames, extend from the front to the rear. It should be one scheme for the whole bike, not twelve individual pieces that happen to be on the same bike.

I agree -- the best I have seen black out all the "brushed aluminum" pieces on mine, and color match the puzzle piece on the side. I might just black the pieces out.....then decide on a color.

There was a neat bike in an interview with our old friend Andy..... yellow and black.

BLACK if want to go faster  IMHO to many have flames being used...be original....:)

I owe a black 2014 Vision tour, Don't care for black but that is what they had. Maroon is very nice even with the silver / gray parts. Flames suck no matter who does them. Everyone has flames. My favorite color is green but I don't think it would look that great, one day I'd like to do a wrap with all the Navy ships and countries that I have been to. Expense would be the deciding factor.

Just painting the white sections dark metallic grey or black would be a big improvement. What would really help is a 160-60 tire on the front.
Yes....I planned on blacking out the aluminum parts.....easier said than done.

I stripped the bike down....and I have sanded, scrubbed with detergent, cleaned with lacquer thinner and MEK....and paint won't stick! Beads up like it's on wax and runs. Tried 3 paints and a different primer. Very fustrated.

Here is a teaser:

Maybe do what I did. Mine is an '08 tour that had all of the ugly grey parts. I had all of those parts painted in a flat black to add some contrast. What if you did the same and had your primary color painted on the grey pieces with a flat finish? Think it would look really good. I have not come across a vision that looks like mine yet. Wasn't a big expense. I get tons of positive comments on my bike.
