CCT fuel tuner question

i have a 2014 CCT with stage 1 filter and map with triovals. I plan to get the Lloydz timing wheel and filter. I recently got a PCV from Freedom powersports With store credit because of a warranty issue I had with a shark helmet I had Purchased from them. I have a caned map for the PCV from The Vic shop. I don't plan to do cams are any othe performance upgrades after adding the stuff above. I don't have a tuner near me and the auto is probably out of my budget.

Researching fuel tuners I found out about the Dobeck performance AFR+ that looks to be good option. I like that is has the wide band AFR gauge to take some of the guess work out. I was thinking of selling the PCV to get the Dobeck set up. I know a dyno would be best but just won't be an option in the foreseeable future. Would a PVC with canned map be better than the AFR+ or would the AFR+ work better in my situation?

Any feedback would be appreciated

The Vic Shop may have a map for your set up. I rode 600 miles each way to the Vic Shop for my PCV, Llodyz filter and timing wheel and 1/4 turn throttle I have the stock exhaust. Bike runs awesome.
Glad i did.
How far away are you from the Vic Shop?

I'd make an appointment and ride there for a dyno tune.

Bob,

Lots of drama around here about fi tuners.
A handful of us have the AFRPLUS and are very happy with it. It is a great tuner.
If you go with the AFRPLUS. Make sure you specifically request the older version that allows you the full self and autotune ability.
Kurbs here dealt with this. Now days you have to specially request that one specifically.
It sounds like their newer version sucks.

If you're going to a tuner with a stock setup you should have them simply throw on some pipes, slap in a hi-flow filter, and tune your ECM (budget permitting, get your cams now as well). ECM tuning for the Freedom 106 ECM hit the streets earlier this year. With this method of tuning you will not need a timing wheel or anything wired in after the tune is complete. Based on the Dyno graphs that I have seen posted on the internets, this seems like the way to go moving forward for any Freedom 106. If you are considering a trip to TVS you should seriously give Rylan a call before moving forward.

Never seen "DarkWeb"? There are many internets and they interweave (the nets part). They become interesting and begin to interfere with one another. Then they become the interweb. The Brits already know this so they just call it the interweb!

When I read
"Based on the Dyno graphs that I have seen posted on the internets"

Is there more than one ineternet? I want to know!
I wanted to imediately chime in but you other fellows had done so already...... The new word is "cloud" just call it the cloud.... I had a bloke tell me the other day that the cloud is the way to go as it is unlimited as there is no need for servers and hardware stuff to store all the data..... Hey I am just relaying what this other very knowledgeable sounding (well he looked serious)person, when he told me that.....

The "Cloud" is just a cool, corporate name for the "Internet."...no more, no less.

Good info here. Do the math. ECM tune won't be free. Dolbeck might be the same price as AT or good Dyno!? If you have a high flow filter you should, maybe, get a decent exhaust...Triovals are fair... I like the sound; garbage in garbage out. The engine is a breathing machine you can't inhale without having a good exhale available, or the high flow filters are just a waste of money. Hope that helps. Call Rylan or any of the tuner gurus (get prices for everything you are considering) and discuss it with them then make your decision. If you go with the timing wheel, you have everything but the cams. It would be a damn shame not to put the cams in before you get the tune; you will not regret that decision if you so choose to do so. Good luck. :)

Regarding ECM tuning. I want to see a full Dynotuned chart next to the PCV tuned chart, with the same mods, before I'm convinced. As far as I'm concerned, the ECM full tuning is still in the experimental stage? I don't deny that it may be more effective, I just want proof. It's prudent to remember, that if it is in fact better it will put all outboard tuners out of business; that's pretty intense?

Comparison: Pretty Good! :D
