My Dad was born and raised in the Ozarks along the Current River. Spent many days running around Southern Missouri. Its a special place.

Starting our two week tour of the Ozarks. In Rolla Mo, had a to do a rear tire change. The rear Metzler ME888 Ultra had given all she had. I swear I has looked at it a couple of weeks ago and thought, "Yeah, there's another 1500 or 2K left on that...". Not so much... Got to Rolla to meet up with the first couple (4 couples total), and the Metzler had a "racing stripe" down the center. Off to Stahlman PowerSports (Great folks and service BTW). For a new Dunlop American Elite II. (It is what they had in stock in the right size...) After looking at my maint logs, the Metzler had only given me 13,457 miles of service.

Alley Spring is about 5 miles from Eminence.

Riding the left loop today. Van Buren, Annapolis, Ellington. Tomorrow is move to Hollister (South of Branson / North of Eureka Springs... We do "Shamrock Tours" (Bow tie tours). Camp in one spot for three or four days. Make 200 mile loops around that camp, then move to a different location. Will end up in Mountain Home Ark near the Buffalo River. Will then get to the Arkansas Dragon, Pig Tail and Twisted Sister.

My Father grew up in Douglas County, akso know as Booger County, as did generations before him going back to the earlier 1800s when Missouri was settled. SE of Springfield about 50 miles. He and 4 brothers moved to Michigan in the late 1930s through WW2, finding great work at Dow Chemical. I got to visit down there and see some cousins back in Jan. of 2016 when his lone sister passed, Aunt Lorene. Visited The Rippee Conservation Area and Rippee Creek that joins Bryant Creek about 14 miles SE of Ava. The creeks looked more like a white water river the day me and sister and cousin visited. This are was named after some not so distant or distant ancestor or maybe just the whole group which was huge at one time, and have now spread out around the country. In just that short trip I fell in love with that area and the Ozarks beauty. Sure would like to motorcycle around a lot of the Missouri and Arkansas Ozarks, and hopefull the oportunity presents itself. All the best Smokier, fantastic trip indeed.

Did a solo run to see a couple friends that moved. One in Joseph Or. and one in Republic Wa. then Monday a ride to the coast for lunch, a ferry ride across the Columbia and a run home for the grandkids volleyball game.
