Had my eye on some 1" handlebars that don't have any knurling at all in the middle where the risers clamp on. Think those will tighten sufficiently or will that require a different type of riser for it?

Maybe notch them yourself? If I wanted the bars bad enough I'd probably do it.

Ive looked and looked and unless you order them without knurling most will be harley setup with dimples and such

back in the day we used to center puch the hell out of them so they would grip.

You don't want to fly hard into a curve and have then move on you
