I got the same one for my Dad for Christmas for his Kingpin. Since it's winter here he hasn't been able to ride the bike and stop for a fill-up. So his question was, where do you guys put the cap when you are filling up at a gas station?

On top of the pump just like any other gas cap that isn't tethered.

My last few vehicles have either had the cap tied to them or like my current vehicle doesn't even have a gas cap, I forgot the simple fix! Thanks.

So, I'm assuming they fixed the venting problem in these?

Yes, Ness acknowledged the problem and fixed it. I believe they recalled all that were out in the market already and replaced them with new redesigned ones. I don't remember all of the facts since I don't have one but it went something like that.

I have to ask though, can you start your bike without a key, and can you fill your locked panniers and trunk without a key?

Yes you can start it without a key if you have something like Digital Gaurd Dog system. And not everyone has panniers and/or a trunk.
But even if you don't have the Gaurd Dog and do have the storage it's still one less place you have to use a key. That's like someone saying I have $400 and I'm going to give you $100 and your response is no I either want all $400 or nothing.
