Just like a muscle car a bike to me is my fun time. Autos I drive all day. My trucks and my jeep all auto. My bikes ? Never. My Challenger? No way !

I went and had the seat on the Triumph done yesterday at Corbin. Man, what a neat experience that was. All I can say is that these folks really take care of you. You ride in and they just take care of you. Super nice folks, excellent, excellent work, excellent, excellent saddle. To get started on the break-in I took the long way home and logged a couple hundred miles. Made a nice twisty run from Hollister to the PCH, played in the forest, stopped at Alice's - the works! It was like riding a whole new bike. And that whole time, especially through the twisties - I was enjoying working the bike, attacking the road, getting that connection - you can't do that with f*cking twist and go. I enjoy having that full experience. I will never give that up if I don't have to.

one way that DCT would benefit me is my clutch hand isn't what it used to be. if i'm stuck in traffic for more than 10 or 15 minutes i'm fked, it starts cramping up on me bad ( lifetime of abuse ). last year i rode a 650 burgman that was automatic and it WAS weird, would take some getting used to for sure., i wouldn't rule one out if i found a bargain :ride:
WE'RE waiting for clarification on the HAND ABUSE:cool018::popcorn:

That's great - if you are racing. I am not. It's all about the kind of motorcycling experience you want to have. DCT sounds like it will work for you. I want to ride my bike, not have my bike ride me. That said, if I ever got to the point where my clutch hand was gone I would certainly convert to the DCT.

I'm thinking a V8 trike ......

I was in the Camp that I would never want a Automatic Motorcycle. Then I test drove a GW DCT! I'm Sold, thats my next bike when the Vision gives up.
Don't knock it unless you tried it!!!

I can see why. I work with my hands and ache sometimes. I even have to use my cruise control frequently. I do agree it takes some cycle experience out just like a.b.s, traction control, windshields, and even full face helmets, etc.to some people. I know if I did have it my passenger would probably like it better and not hit my helmet with hers on occasion. Lol

I rode a Spyder RS SE5 for 2 years. That was a semi-auto transmission, technically you could call it electronically shifted. It was really good, very quick and never missed a shift. But it just left me cold. I traded it for the Vision and have not looked back. But it was nice. But a full auto? For me that would suck. But I would do it to stay in the wind.

I rode a dct Honda something, not a GW, around the parking lot , it's weird to adjust to it.
Not opposed to it though my hands can cramp from time to time, not just on a bike either. On a steering wheel if I leave my hand in one spot too long or even when playing my guitar after 20 minutes.
Most of the time I use the cruise control on the Vision is to give my throttle hand a break, but the cc's not been working very well lately.
