Yawn. I'll shift my own, thank you. Not saying it isn't good or anything. It's actually kind of ideal for this platform. It's just not for me. I did that with the Spyder. As impressive as it was, I didn't care or it then and I am not gonna go for it now. And look at that dash glass... all F'd up and scratched already from cleaning it. I don't care for that either.

I went and had the seat on the Triumph done yesterday at Corbin. Man, what a neat experience that was. All I can say is that these folks really take care of you. You ride in and they just take care of you. Super nice folks, excellent, excellent work, excellent, excellent saddle. To get started on the break-in I took the long way home and logged a couple hundred miles. Made a nice twisty run from Hollister to the PCH, played in the forest, stopped at Alice's - the works! It was like riding a whole new bike. And that whole time, especially through the twisties - I was enjoying working the bike, attacking the road, getting that connection - you can't do that with f*cking twist and go. I enjoy having that full experience. I will never give that up if I don't have to.

That's great - if you are racing. I am not. It's all about the kind of motorcycling experience you want to have. DCT sounds like it will work for you. I want to ride my bike, not have my bike ride me. That said, if I ever got to the point where my clutch hand was gone I would certainly convert to the DCT.

I rode a Spyder RS SE5 for 2 years. That was a semi-auto transmission, technically you could call it electronically shifted. It was really good, very quick and never missed a shift. But it just left me cold. I traded it for the Vision and have not looked back. But it was nice. But a full auto? For me that would suck. But I would do it to stay in the wind.
