I believe its a $100 per violation if you ride-n-dash and the "sticker-passes" cannot be used with motorcycles, as the windshield acts as an antenna. It would be nice if the sunshine state made a small unit (smaller than the portable) designed just for bikes.

It drives my old lady nuts but I like tolls as a chance to remove my gloves, stand up and stretch.
I then put my gloves back on and continue my ride.
She feels that she should handle the $ for the tolls.
She was advising me of her opinion at one toll booth when the collector said " They all do it honey they get the blood back in their legs"
First time I even thought about tipping a toll collector.

While it's unclear, I believe you have a 30 Day Grace Period to pay a toll before the fine is assessed. If someone wants to call Sunpass, feel free to update this info.
I say this as a friend of mine's Daughter recently visited the Sunshine State and used his car during her stay. Evidently, she ignored the tolls and went through the Sunpass Express Lanes. Within a week, he received a few notices in the mail with payment instructions (without a penalty) and promptly paid them. Again, this is 2nd hand information and should not be taken as "real" advice. So, give Sunpass a call and let us know what they say about this.

Here's a couple of paragraphs from the Sunpass website:

If you are not a SunPass, E-PASS, or LEEWAY Account Holder and find yourself in an unattended, dedicated SunPass lane, please continue through the toll plaza. Do not stop and back up, as it is unsafe. However, payment for the toll is still required.

Please mail missed toll payments (check and money orders only, indicating vehicle plate information, date, time and location of
toll plazaor mile marker) to FDOT Turnpike Enterprise, PO Box 310, Ocoee, FL 34761-0310. DO NOT SEND CASH. Please be sure to retain a copy of your cancelled check/money order in the event a SunPass toll violation is generated. This may assist in closing the document.

Also, here's a Toll Calculator for you:

It's not pretty, but it's functional.

Well the way i see it with that big ass trunk on there and the hidden plate only Mark (Phoenix) who has decided hes too good to wear his trunk, will get caught on video because his plate will easily be seen by "DA MAN" :)

Just got off the phone with Sunpass, Very nice lady.
I think our best bet is to pick up a SP when we get down there at a CVS or Publix.
It does cost 25$ plus tax and can be loaded with any amount we want .
She told me that from I75 down to Homestead (the last toll location) is 24.95 without the SP and 16.65 with it.(Each Way) The small one will not work with the bikes.

Dean, you should be able to get one at the first service plaza before the toll.
Andy, as far as the tickets go it works two ways.
1. If your plate is registered to a transponder you will first get an invoice for the amount of the toll. This normally happens when the batteries are a little low going through the high speed lanes.
If you pay it, no problem. If you dont they take $20.00 out of your epass account for admin fees.
2. If your plate is not registered if works on a sliding scale starting at $100.00. But in reality they do give you 3 blow thru's before they charge you. It is easy to fight these tickets if you or your company has epass accounts you just say "I must have put it in a bad position"

Holy crap! Even Illinois, the land of corruption and mismanagement, doesn't charge those kinds of fees. You can get an I-pass for $10 and link it to multiple vehicles so technically we could all roll through on the same I-pass.For the kind of money FL is chargingthere better be a cute lady about belt heighth involved.
Dean,
Yes. I am too good for the trunk.
Andy,
As for the lovely scenery on the turnpike; remember, I live inIllinois where scenic beauty is seeing soybeans planted instead of corn. Damn, do I miss AZ!

Yes, Welcome to Flor-I-Duh, where our Motto is...Corruption? We taughtIllinois!

When we get the final rider tally, I'll get to work on the Entertainment.

For the Scenery, when you get near the Keys, you'll see a lot of water...and even more T-Shirt Shops! Make sure you try to find the shops that display the Wet Ones!

The only scenery ive been seeing around here are horses ! The kind with the little blinking yellow lights on top of em.

As far as entertainment, Once this boy leaves his door Wed morning im a bachelor And thats the story im stickin to !!!

Don,
Did your buddy get his hotel rooms set up in Isalmorada and the Keys?

He is actually going to make his final decision today. He has a meeting on Monday that he is trying to get rescheduled. But it will be no problem either way, he can bunk with me if nothing is available.

Hey guys,
Just looking at the weather and it may be a little cool for you Yankees down here. Bring more then a tank top, seriously. 50 degrees down here is allot different then 50 up North....
Hey Jim, remember Bike Week!

Don,
Thanks for the heads up, but why do you think it will be so cold? I usually don'tcheck weather forecasts more than 10 days out. Since we are leaving from Chi-town in October we'll have some warmer clothes. Does this mean we'll see some headlightson the females instead of the motorcycles? If your Florida girls look as nice as those Arizona girls it will be some good scenery.

Don,
You don't need to convince me....I'm from AZ, remember? I get cold when someone leaves the beer cooler open too long! Why do you think I chose Key West over a trip around Lake Michigan and Lake Superior in October? Now Dean, he's more designed to handle colder temps...I'm just sayin'
