egnarp - thanks for backing up (with an inside source) what I have said in my prior comments. This also supports carl_i as well. So far they are on track to ship bikes just as they have stated all along. It really sucks spider has been put on the wrong track. It makes perfect sense there has been not communication and or press release. What would it read..."we have no problems and are shipping as promissed"?

For most this will be a thing of the past in a couple of weeks. These posts will turn into pictures of new deliveries...Hope all ends well for everyone or they move onto something that does make them happy.

Yes, i'll be glad when I can go for a ride, it's been too long for me.
I'm sure everything will work out, should be a few happy Indian riders soon, i'm looking foward to breaking mine in before the snow flies, like that's stopped me from riding before ;)

Darn shame I'm about to go on a 1,700 mile plus without my Chieftain...

The Sioux Falls dealership has a couple floor models as of yesterday. Others are in route. Hopefully one is mine!
Twin Cities Indian claims their bikes are arriving this week as well. Wasn't this the week Indian claimed the deliveries would begin?

I got home at 5:05pm today and had a voicemail from Indian motorcycles asking me to call them back reference my question to them a week ago about delivery status of my bike. I has emailed back and forth with them at the time, but it was encouraging to also get a follow up call as well (good customer service!). I tried calling them back, and I actually did speak to a live person, but the person who is handling my "case number" got off work at 5pm. Just my luck. They are supposed to call me tomorrow on my cell. Even though they appear to be running a couple weeks behind schedule, they are being responsive to the consumer when the consumers contact them directly like I did.

I got a call from Indian Lincoln on Friday, then today I got a call from the factory in response to a msg I sent them on facebook. The factory backed up what the dealership had stated about bikes shipping on Monday (yesterday), and that a larger shipment will be go out next Monday. while it wasn't the call that my machine was on the way, it was about the next best thing. Hoping for delivery in two weeks, and decent weather for the ride home. I think we're in the home stretch guys!

Two days ago I stopped at my dealership to try and get an update on a shipping date for my new Chieftain. Their computer tells them "TBD" (to be determined). This is what Indian/Polaris industries is telling the dealerships. Asked dealer as well if they have heard anything about production delays due to QC issue. They knew nothing about it.

So...me being me and occasionally liking to stir the pot, send Indian a message over their facebook site. They asked for some basic information and below is the reply I got from them.
I got the exact same response and agree totally with you!
Keith,
Thank you for contacting Indian Motorcycle with your questions on a delivery date of your ordered Indian Motorcycle. We appreciate hearing from all of our consumers.
With the recent release of the new 2014 Indian Motorcycles, we are experiencing an overwhelming global demand. To ensure we are meeting the expectations of our consumers, Indian Motorcycle is applying unprecedented quality assessments on the motorcycles coming off of the production line. As a result of this thorough inspection process, we came across a refinement issue that we are choosing to address prior to any shipment.
Polaris Industries is proud of the new chapter of our family in Indian Motorcycle. We are delivering Polaris confidence and quality and will not ship until all bikes meet Indian Motorcycle consumer expectation.
Indian Motorcycle will start shipping motorcycles in the month of September. Once shipment is confirmed your dealer will be notified. The dealership will contact you with a date of when your bike is available. Your dealership will be your best resource for the specific dates of your bike.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we know you are eagerly awaiting the arrival of your new motorcycle.
Respectfully,
Consumer Services
Indian Motorcycle
I replied back to CS thanking them for their reply but also told them the lack of communication between Polaris Industries/Indian and their dealer network is irritating the consumer with a lack of answers and information. If they would simply tell the dealers...we have a minor QC isssue and production is delayed by ___ weeks, I would be OK with it. I shouldnt have to bypass my dealer to get to this. I actually feel sorry for the dealerships where with a few minutes of my time I am able to get more information than they get.

OH! I was also told that the very first things that were going to ship from factory would be 2 display bikes to each dealership (~40 dealerships), THEN they would begin shipping pre-orders. I kind of wish my deposit put me ahead of the dealers, but I guess they did put up more cash than I did. That's only 80ish bikes, which is less than 1 weeks worth of production according to the customer service rep.
so i take it they are putting out about 20 bikes per day? i have been curious as to the number of bikes thier factory is designed to put out per day.

The good thing is everyone knows that the Indian will be a very dependable bike.

That's because thenew Indian is really just a pushrod powered Victory.

They used the same design team, built in the same plant, it's all the same people just wearing a different hat.
That is rediculously untrue!

Indeed the bikes have been delayed. My original ship date was 9/18 and was changed to TBD(to be determined) I dont think its a huge deal but there was IN FACT a delay.

I took it to mean that a guy stopped for a visit on his new Indian. Could be wrong though.
