One of the reasons I left the other American brand forum was because of elitist, exclusionary attitudes of both members and staff. I was invited to take my questions and comments to a Victory forum, which I did. Then, one of the denisons of that forum stalked me here to continue the beratement. (invent-a-word. Figure it out.)

What I've liked about this place is the openness to discussions of other brands, including HD and rice-rides. To include a section dedicated to a cousin-by-marriage of Victory (Indian) can serve to strengthen the forum as a whole. I, for one, welcome the discussions and the potential new members it could attract.

I'm a curious person. Most people are curious. It's in our DNA. It is unlikely that someone joining for the purpose of Indian discussion will remain only within that section. It may be one of those elitist jerks from another site who comes over and realizes there is more to the road than HD and Indian. He or she may come to understand that it is possible and, actually, more common than expected, for HD and Victory to share a garage. It may open them up to friendly discourse and a more broad opinion of Victory.

But it's up to the people who own, ride and like them to be the ambassadors for the brand. If having an Indian section lures people over and they stick around because we're not such bad people, well, what could it hurt? They might even be able to use some of that HD experience and knowledge to help one of us with a sticky Vic problem.

I'm all for it. If I decide I don't like a thread or get bored with it, I can move on to other pursuits and simply bypass it.

Chevy Buick GMC. Victory Indian Polaris. What's the difference? All different types of theads intermingal. Keeps life interesting. Although Polaris could of said "We have another new Choice in American Mototorcycles".

Hey Poptop,

You've been around here for quite a while and you're an Appreciate VOG Member. As you know, we've always been an All Riders Welcome site and ever since Polaris purchased the Indian Brand, I added forums on those topics. It was predictable that when the models were announced those sections would become more active and push posts to the Dashboard.

But as stated, this topic has been discussed and there is a simple solution:

If you only want to view Victory-related posts, simply bookmark this link: http://www.thevog.net/forum/50/victory-forum/

I hope this provides a workable solution for you as yes, you're welcomed here!

Also, like it or not, what Polaris does with Indian will somehow effect Victory in the long run and probably for the better :)

Dammit! I knew that bike was gonna ruin my reputation. Not even a 1450 mile day is enough to overcome the Hollywood attention you get from one of Andy's videos and buying one of Dsjr's LE#001's.
Buying an Indian might just put me up there with those H-D doctor and lawyer types.
I'm doomed.....
Are you trying to be a poser of a poser?

Well I guess I pushed a few buttons with that post! In actuality I can disregard the ninjun posts and aviod any hard feelings to anyone or annoyance to me.I chose to read them for a bit, they got just a bit redundant.
So I formed an opinion onn it and, shall I say dressed it up a bit for effect!
It was never mt intention to slur anyone by the monikers but to say what I believe maany would already be thinking about stereotypes! We all know they exist in the motercycle world.
Soif the shoe does not fit pleas don, t try and put the shoe on!
As to my writing style , phonetic speach tends to be aanoyance to some thats to bad! I no longer have a grammer they have both passed. The original post definetly gave the forum , along with others, something else to talk about.

BobbyG, you've just exposed why you should never buy the first years production of any vehicle.

Geronimo's leather is top notch while the new Indian's leather seems to be a way for Polaris to save money and bring the MSRP down.

There is no way that those two seats were made by the same manufacturer.
The new one has been mass produced while Geronimo's was hand crafted with pride.
I'm truly sad to see leather treated that way.

Poptop, you are one of the many VOG Members that give this place a special flavor and your long-term contributios to this site allow us to remember that the culture here is made of a great mix of riders from all over the world. Like all VOG Members, I value the input I receive on this site and while I make decisions on the direction of this site on a daily basis, not all of them will please everyone. You do have the assurance of knowing that I am take all the inquiries seriously and like I Cub Scout that "I do my best!"

This thread is the perfect example of why the "spell check" should be "on" by default.

It is inevitiable that the release of the Polaris Indian is going to leak over to the Vic sight.Hopefully the mothership doesn't ingnore us for the new member of the family, but their efforts are going to be getting the Indian brand up and running. I for one am very interested in the Indian brand, and will look to them as a possible new bike in the future.
My only complaint about the Indian release is the fact they seem to not recognize that Vicotry is an American brand as well. Like an earlier post said, they should have worded the release as another option, not like Harley was the only one.Oh, and they killed the Kingpin. Can't forget that.
