I did the bumper kit, also added foam padding along the lid, and did all the home tricks people had come up with, i.e. bend the tang, add a rubber sleeve to the catch, etc. Where most of my rattling was coming from I later discovered was the rear speaker covers. They are held in place by a push pin mechanism. The centre pin backs out slightly allowing the covers to rattle. Since it is so close to the trunk the noise transfers and echoed back from the trunk. I added foam padding to the speaker covers to make more resistance for the push pin, this corrected my problem and I hope it helps you
