Bought the Harley Instead. Indian only offered $11500 for my bike. Harley offered a whole lot more.So for the less cash outlay I bought the Electra Glide Ultra Classic with a trunk, back seat for the wife, Nav, Great radio, Daymaker LEDs Linked ABS, Security, And a Great color that can be seen. And a 3 year Warranty. $12453 out of pocket. Indian would have been $12300 BEFORE adding a back rest assembly at the minimum. after the Vet discount!!
As for the ride:
The Indian was fine and very smooth and "fit well" , but I was a little disappointed in the 111. After all I read I expected a whole lot more than the 103 and it just wasn't there. It's smooth and quiet, but got a little buzzy at higher RPMs. Handling of both bikes are equally great with a nod to the Harley because of it's girth. I just do not feel it in the corners fast or maneuvering.
, HArley really went to the engineers on the redesign of the Rushmore and did a phenomenal job. For my size it needs nothing the seat and bars are great stock. The electronics on the Chieftain were "ok" not nearly what Harley offers for the same money (actually less because of Indians weak trade in value for my road King).. The accessories for the Indian just to get a back rest and rack were horrendously priced. Bringing the price almost on par with the MSRP of the Electra Glide which was $26703 OTD They way over allowed for my trade to keep the price down since I just bought the bike a couple months ago. The electronic windshield was really nice. But the HD has lowers and a variety of windscreens available. Wind protection in that regard is much better. The Fairing has wind deflectors as well.
This is a tough time of year to get a great deal. INdain failed to sell a bike because it simply was not as good a deal as the FLHTCU The Harley offered so much more for less money. The difference was the $3000 more they gave on the trade.
and for you non belivers you saw the first pic....Here is the new bike

I wish ALL of you well and stay safe. I enjoyed the banter. I also TRIED to buy an Indian but as you can see Harley is far more aggressive and they got my business. Besides Indian does not make this bike at the same price I paid for it. .or at any price
