Bought the Harley Instead. Indian only offered $11500 for my bike. Harley offered a whole lot more.So for the less cash outlay I bought the Electra Glide Ultra Classic with a trunk, back seat for the wife, Nav, Great radio, Daymaker LEDs Linked ABS, Security, And a Great color that can be seen. And a 3 year Warranty. $12453 out of pocket. Indian would have been $12300 BEFORE adding a back rest assembly at the minimum. after the Vet discount!!

As for the ride:
The Indian was fine and very smooth and "fit well" , but I was a little disappointed in the 111. After all I read I expected a whole lot more than the 103 and it just wasn't there. It's smooth and quiet, but got a little buzzy at higher RPMs. Handling of both bikes are equally great with a nod to the Harley because of it's girth. I just do not feel it in the corners fast or maneuvering.

, HArley really went to the engineers on the redesign of the Rushmore and did a phenomenal job. For my size it needs nothing the seat and bars are great stock. The electronics on the Chieftain were "ok" not nearly what Harley offers for the same money (actually less because of Indians weak trade in value for my road King).. The accessories for the Indian just to get a back rest and rack were horrendously priced. Bringing the price almost on par with the MSRP of the Electra Glide which was $26703 OTD They way over allowed for my trade to keep the price down since I just bought the bike a couple months ago. The electronic windshield was really nice. But the HD has lowers and a variety of windscreens available. Wind protection in that regard is much better. The Fairing has wind deflectors as well.

This is a tough time of year to get a great deal. INdain failed to sell a bike because it simply was not as good a deal as the FLHTCU The Harley offered so much more for less money. The difference was the $3000 more they gave on the trade.

and for you non belivers you saw the first pic....Here is the new bike

I wish ALL of you well and stay safe. I enjoyed the banter. I also TRIED to buy an Indian but as you can see Harley is far more aggressive and they got my business. Besides Indian does not make this bike at the same price I paid for it. .or at any price

Everything you mentioned made sense, I agree with you enjoy your new ride got an awesome bike. Indian has to understand make a nice bike have the options or dont come out until you do. One of my Friends has the Ultra classic limited and its amazing in quality and finish.

Good for you and congratulations on buying the bike for you. No one here will be surprised by your choice and it's what you wanted all along. I believe that your only purpose for ever being here was to criticisize the Indian and Victory bikes so you could tout Harley as this is all you have done since joining the VOG. Now that you have bought the bike you feel is better and now that you've made the best choice for you, and most importantly now that you're no longer gathering data for a possible Indian purchase you should do the right thing and move a long. There's no need for you to continue posting here and disrespecting our choice to own a Victory or an Indian on our forum built for owners of the bikes that we chose to purchase. If we want to consider an HD we don't need you hijacking our threads, we'll go to the HDforums and conduct our research there. We'll do it in a respectful manner unlike how you have conducted yourself here.

Good luck with your new Ultra, she's a nice bike.

everything you said has merit. At the end of the day the most important is how happy the owner is with his or her decision.
Myself I'm impressed by the Indians but not so much to drop the $$ at this time, my CCT while lacking some of the nicer features(keyless, tire pressure monitoring, electric windshield) is just all around a better bike for my needs.
The Rushmore project was a great improvement over years past. I even like how they improved the way the saddlebags open but everytime I see it I think about flushing the toilet.
In any case we'd all like some ride reviews a few months from now. We're not all Harley haters, we're just taking a different path.

We may not all be Harley haters but this person IS an Indian/Victory hater. Search posts by Mudshark and read his brand trashing for yourself. I might have questions about an HD someday but I wouldn't go to their house/forum and trash their ride. This guy handled himself very poorly here.

Thanks. I really wanted to love the Indian. But the Dealer did not come to the plate. When I rode back to HD and they offered $14500 for my bike after i told them what Indian offered .........I just had to pick out a bike. It was between the SGS and the Ultra. After looking at the money I decided the Ultra was well worth the extra $2500 Becasue I would need to spend over $1000 on assys to make the Street Glide passenger happy and needed rear bag guards and passing lamps, Just a ton of stuff the ultra already had in spades. Plus they were going to allow LESS on my trade against a SGS. No brainer then.

For the same money I could not see buying the Chieftian. It did not make sense on paper. They refused to offer more for the trqade than low book and who could blame them Wholesale is what they do. Harley is in a better position to offer a lot more becasue they have high margins between wholesale a retail on new bikes.

A 2014 FLHR like mine has an INVOICE price of what they allowed for my bike. They could buy a NEW 2014 FLHR for $14500 to sell for $19K!! So MSRP on Harleys is hard to come under but they did to the tune of $2000 and wiped out freight, set up and fees! How could I pass that up?

What he really says is that if the dealer would have come to the plate he would be riding the bike he REALLY wanted. Interesting buying strategy. This guy is hands down the biggest internet forum troll I've seen in my 44 years on Gods green earth! Granted I've only been online since 1997, lol.

Is the VOG also an extension of the harley forum now? Why does he feel compelled to post threads about his Harley here? What would happen to one of us if we joined the HDforums and posted about how much we love Victory and Indian all day long? I'll bet our threads would get locked.

Hey mud we're happy for you now move along to your new home.

Is this MS again?
Why did he change his name? did he fuinally get thrown out and come back?

No you are wrong. I bought the FLHR with a PLAN to buy an Indian used and made that clear. I did not want to buy a first year bike until I knew more about it. Things got waaaaay out of hand when people began"defending and protecting"

I REALLY wanted the Indian but I was matching it against the plain Jane Road King I had and hoping the values would get closer as time went on. I wanted to spend What I wanted and nothing more. I would wait for my price to come in. In the mean time I actually got to ride one and liked it but the dealer although he did what most would do and offer low book for the trade, turned me off. I could not sell a bike for $11500 I paid $16K for a few weeks ago for an Indian,

So I went BACK to HD to see what I could get for Chieftain prices. The Street Glide was the only bike. UNTIL they offered me $14500 on my bike. Then the type of bike I could buy was increased immensely for the same money I would have had to give for an Indian. Now I cannot compare the EG Ultra with an Indian on any level. The EG is so much more bike for the SAME cash outlay.

I had to just say no to the Indian and go with the better deal. Many here sis not believe I even had the money to buy a bike. So there it is. The Indian Dealer COULD have had a sale. Because i would have not gone back to Harley if they would lower their price like HD did on the Chieftain to give me a better road in. Harley actually surprised me. They first came back with $14,000 and I called their bluff and walked. They came back to the table. I could not pass that deal. They WANTED to sell a bike. Indian wanted to buy a rock bottom and sell at full MSRP. Then add another $1000+ for a back rest and rack. $25K before I knew it.

And yes I will move along I have no purpose here anymore like you said. I have no reason other than this thread to post anything. I will keep reading the three Indian forums I belong to to see how it's going but I will not be a participant.

Thats right but I had not even CONSIDERED the EG Ultra. I was comparing tghe SGS to the Indian When the ULTRA became a reality for LESS money well frankly the Indian all of a sudden looked weak and did not look so hot.

So in reality I got a FAR FAR BETTER bike for LESS money and I cannot see buying an Indian now. It would be a step back on most levels. I would have never guessed i could buy an Ultra for less money out of pocket than an Indian with my bike in trade. But there you go. And thats why Harley old 70K bikes against Indains 9K in the first quarter, I guess,

I hate to admit to reading so many of his quotes. last i knew his roadking was new so he was going to wait. As he is so shrewd with money and never lets urges make him do things early... this is how he has saved so much money ,,blah blah, blah...doesn't need money in retirement....
just more of his lies.
As my theory goes, he doesn't even have a bike. he is a hasbeen biker, whose wife won't let hiim buy one. He thus stands behind his neighbors bikes and pretends they are his. this is why he is such a troll.. he is completely envious of anyone on two wheels.
Too bad momma holds the purse strings.
Post all you want, MS, HW , Muddy or whatever name you use. every forum site needs a clown
