Ya, it seems to be hit and miss if you can get those things adjusted to work properly and not smoke the clutch. Is the lever going all the way against the grip as far as possible? No grip puppy foam covers or thicker custom grips?

No EZ Clutch, never had to readjust the clutch cable in 78K miles, still on my oem clutch cable and my clutch is still perfect. I lube the ends a couple times a year, maybe. I run with more clutch lever freeplay than what the manual suggests I should. A replacement Barnett clutch cable is still hanging on the doorknob to my office closet. I'm determined to install the Barnett at the 100K mile Mark even if the oem clutch cable is still working perfectly.

YMMV
At about 80k miles I barely noticed the clutch pull was not as smooth. Replaced cable with Barnett and was much smoother and less pull effort. Cut the end off to pull cable out of sleeve and the teflon coating was worn off in the metal bend area of the lower part of sleeve.
