Hey Riders,

I have a '14 highball. Recently put on Bassani turnouts,K&N air filter and the Cobra Pro tuner (auto tune). Roughly 55 miles. Here are my observations:
1. First gear rides like crap ( lots of back firing) and "shaking during idling"
2. Smoothes out in 2nd gear
3. 3rd Gear--> Extremely loud back firing and popping. Sounds like gunshots. This happens on decal and sometimes during acceleration.
4. 4-6th Gear --> bike runs smooth and the engine purrs.

Hmm, not sure about this thing. Most likely going to change it out.

All I know is whenever cobra comes up around here words like, junk, sucks, worthless, crap, get rid of it, change it out, etc... seem to come up. Just spend some time searching and you to will see what I mean.

...if I had a post 07 bike, I would be seriously tempted to buy this

Did you use NEW exhaust gaskets when the pipes went on? Have you retorqued the header connections since? That's the #1 cause of popping and banging.

send it back to wherever you bought it. You'll have nothing but problems with the Cobra

That gave me the impression that you either did it or had it done. Any competent shop would know that exhaust gaskets are one-crush-and-done and the headers need retorqued after a few heat cycles. If they don't, find a new mechanic.

A competent shop would also never recommend that tuning device. If they suggested it to you or told you it "Auto-Tuned", find a new mechanic.

K&N air filter does pretty much nothing except give you a washable air filter. If you're looking to make the bike perform better your best bang for the buck will be a better airbox. There's up to a dozen HP to be gained there.
