I bet kitty sleeps inside tonight. As for Mr Browndog he would need more than a cat of his own if that was my child. Another argument for leash laws.

Glad it ended no worse than it was.

Yup. I believe in leashes, and holding folks responsible for the actions of their pets. Pain is a trainer,,,, Of course, if someone has a pet that they are too stupid to control, Time for a Pet Rescue. It is inhumane to leave a pet with an owner who is dumber than the animal. Kg

Awesome. Good to see the boss come down and do some dirty work to help out the staff on occasion. (i.e. dogs have owners, cats have staff)

Now that's one tough cat, don't see many cats coming to their "staffs" rescue...
I had an "old girl" that would have done that, she was a big tortishell cat.

When she was about 9 years old, I broght her home from one of our company facilities where she was living rough, and some there were not treating her very well.

Despite some poor treatment, she loved people and attention.

However, I have never seen a cat that had the combination of utter fearlessness, along with the confidence and fighting skill to back it up. No matter what it was, she seemed to know just how to most effectively attack it, retreat was not in her plans at all.

She did, on several occassions defend the house and would watch strangers outside like a guard dog.

She lived the last 5 years of her life here, in luxury. We lost her a year ago some old age related ailments, I still miss that old girl, a lot.

Looking somewhat formidible, here;

I'm not a cat fan, but I'm seriously impressed with the cat, and pissed as hell with the dog owner.
I've had dogs most my life, and if I had one that did something like that then it's days would be over!

that pissed me off. No provocation or prey type fleeing. The dog needs put down and the owner needs a knuckle education. If that cat had not stepped in it would have been much worse. We took in a stray cat when I was a child. My younger brother was chased by a German Sheppard that used to run loose in the neighbor hood. The cat we named stickers (because he had long claws) hopped on the dogs back and rode him like a cowboy. We were visted by the owner who had a vet bill for stitching the dog up. Dad did not pay and we never saw that dog loose again. I love dogs but they are like children in many ways. They need lots of time and attention to understand what is expected of them. If you don't have the time, don't take in an animal.

We had a neighbor when I was a kid that let his dog run loose, one eventful day that dog attacked my grandmothers little pooch (on the end of a leash) and my grandmother fell and broke a finger. Later I asked my grandfather if he had seen the dog, a man of little words, he simply remarked " poor dog was so distraught over hurting granny, he committed suicide". I have heard it said many times that there are no bad dogs, only bad owners. Well I think we can all agree that video may just prove that wrong. That dog is a bad dog, he wasn't provoked in any way.

In my little town we have very strict leash laws for dogs. (No law for cats)
If a dog is running loose, it will be picked up and you will pay a hefty fine to get it back.
My entire back yard is enclosed with a 6' fence so my dogs don't have to be restrained while outside.

The kid was riding his bike, and some dogs just don't like bikes, motorized or not.
I've had dogs chase me on both types of bikes several times and I'm sure that nothing good would of happened if they had caught me.
On one of our Zoo Crew rides last year a dog came out to chase us and one of the bikes unintentionally ran it over.
Dog owners fault.

I wouldn't hesitate for one second to put that dog down, andI'm fairly certain that dog will be put down as soon as rabies is ruled out.

About 12 or so years ago while my family and I were visiting a small town in Mexico , we walked past a corner everyday several times . On that corner there was a dog that hung around and had a real atitude, several times biteing at folks.
One day as we were walking by the dog came at an elderly lady .The old fellow that owned the shop on the corner quietly stood stepped back inside his shop then returned holding a hand gun walked over and blasted the animal dead , dead dead! Turned placed the pistol back inside his shop and sat down agian mater of factly,
Later the dog owner retrieved his dead dog the old lady was ok and in the future there were never any issues at that corner! The old fellow was out one cartridge and everyone was happy except perhaps the dog owner ! He didnt care so nobody cared about him! GUNSare or can be handy!
