Update, bike had some starting issues again today. This morning it didn't start until the second try and it took three tries just this afternoon. I tried to get video but of course it started, although hard, when I was recording. There were just under 60 miles on the tank this morning and about 75 this afternoon. You can tell the bike is laboring in the video. I am going to hold onto the video and hopefully I can get a video of it NOT starting so I can present it to Polaris. Guys at the dealership say their Scouts do similar things. All I can think to myself is "how in the fack do you find that acceptable?!?!" but I keep my mouth shut...
It's a factory defect, but because it's not life-threatening they will not do a recall. You can take it to them and they will fix it under the warranty.

Gents,

My bike is at the dealer now getting the starter replaced. Another week of riding lost to a broken part...

Any way, I found in our owners manual, page 28, that Victory states the fuel light will come on with about 1/2 gallon fuel left.

My son just bought a 2011 Cross Roads and have to say what a P.O.S. With almost all the parts MADE IN CHINA what do you expect. Can,t imagine how many stupid problems from a back fire blowing out the starter and the starter clutch to fuel pump, stator and much more. I have rode Harleys for 30 years and never seen such garbage parts and lousy engineering. Know why Victory closed down AGAIN.

First off, show me something that's not got some parts made in China, especially the plastic bits and electronic components. 2nd, why come on here with barely any other thread messages and downplay the bike, maybe the problems aren't all really problems. Yeah, maybe it's a lemon or maybe, just maybe, the previous owner, dealership or mechanic screwed it up. If you bought it new and had all these issues, I'd quantify these as valid complaints. Here are some thoughts and questions: What mods are done, does it have a fuel controller, has it been serviced by a dealer, regular oil changes, been ridden or garaged, kept outside or in, rode hard or soft, been tuned? Where is the bike and what is the mileage? I mean, come on, really? It's like me writing a ***** thread in a Microsoft forum that Windows Vista sucks and I should have bought an Apple instead.

Have to say after reading numerous blogs on Victory bikes I'll stick with my initial observation and yup they closed down again so what does that tell everyone. Garbage in, garbage out!! Should rename it LOOSER.

They (Polaris, not Indian) wanted to sell a legacy name brand and didn't want to compete with themselves. That combined with forward thinking, a declining market and poor advertising led to poor sales, but to say that "they" are garbage is adolescent, you're trying to get an argument started. This forum is for Victory Owners and since you aren't one, why bother coming here trying to start something? If your son doesn't like the bike, he can get rid of it and you can happily delete your theVOG.net account. But maybe it's not your son that doesn't like it...

Really thin skin there. Stay out of the kitchen if you can't stand the heat. And yes the sales went into the toilet!!

Really wish it was a good product. So many issues in a 8 month span. Son bought it at Arlen Ness Dealer which was a Victory Dealer. Bike has had so many issues with only 49k on it that it makes it frustrating. Now the fuel pump that was put in Feb 2018 with only 1800 miles on it is not covered under parts replacement. 30 day warranty only? That was about $500.00 with the " $94.00 Fuel line upgrade" and a $24.00 seal that does not come with new pump? I would have hoped my son had a reliable product instead of thinking when is it going to break down next. Maybe it's a lemon but knowing every part I bought from Victory has a made in China sticker on it tells me the parts are inferior and most likely it will remain having issues. Really don't want to burst anyones bubble but this is just a precaution to other riders on our experience. Keep riding hard or stay home....

I hope all the problems will go away on your sons bike, i rode 3 HD and 1 Goldwing in this year from friends of mine, and my 2 vics are more spacious and handle better ..... Quality wise , seems to me American bikes are made to be modified ..... All my jap bikes were standing in rain and snow and everything worked, no electrical issues etc ....
