Ok small change but still good info...I talked the wife into going if she can get off of work. Realizing that she would not like to sleep in a tent for 3 nights I called Unicoi State Park back and reserved a lodge room at $318 for the three nights. I wanted to post this again in case anyone is wondering about the State Park.

Not a bad rate. Last year I stayed in blairseville (lodge at copperhead) which is about 35 miles north of there. It's a really nice ride through the mountains down to Helen. I reserved a cabin for this year. Their deluxe cabin with a motorcycle garage, hot tub, sleeps 6, deck with bbq grill was $165 a night. They have different level rooms in the lodge (not sure of pricing) and even bunk rooms which are inexpensive for the single traveler. They have a great bar and live music on weekends. All covered bike parking at the lodge with free cleaning supplies.

I have been to the SEVR a number of times and if you can stay at the host hotels or other hotels or condos close by - it will be a much better experience. If you can swing it. Either way - its the best motorcycle rally I have been to...

Bumping this one up as the Rally is only a couple weeks away. I just booked a room for Fri and Sat night at the Econo lodge and according to the website they have a few non-smoking and smoking rooms available. The hotel is at the end of the back road where all the festivities are taking placebut still in walking distance from everything.Might bea long stumble if you over do it a bit at The Witchdoctors medicine wagon but doable.... Looking forward to catching up withthe friendsI met last year and meeting some new ones.

My fun will be Friday as I faithfully hand over a brand new scoot to Kyle to play mad doctor on. No worries.

I'll be chillin' at the Best Western.. Ooh la la 5-star!
