Hello there. I recently bought a 2013 Vegas 8 Ball that had a few things done to it by the previous owner. I am completely new to these bikes but a capable aircraft mechanic by trade and auto mechanic by hobby. I still know very little about working on these bikes.

From what I know it has Conquest Customs Octanes installed and the wrap needs to be redone. It also has a dynojet power commander V. I have no idea what kind of tune was mapped to it. It does pop quite a bit during decel and the pipes are very loud.

The stock exhaust was included in the sale and I'd like to know if I could reinstall the stock pipes without the muffler portion temporarily or perhaps longer if I like. I actually already did it just to see what I'm working with but haven't started her up.

The muffler mount off the frame was chopped. I assume this was necessary to install the straight pipes so if I want to install the mufflers I would probably have to visit a welder.

Can I just disconnect the O2 sensors from the Octanes and reattach the stock O2 sensors to the factory plugs? What else needs to be done?

Please forgive my newbieness.

You can reinstall factory pipes without mufflers and it will probably be ok but you could try find a can map for the setup, I have one but it will pop and be just as loud as what you have, I would keep the octanes personally they are one of the best 2 into 2 pipes for victories if you want to go back to stock mufflers just remove the power commander completely.

PCV and Conquest Customs Octanes ..... all you need now is to replace the stock air box ...get some Torque Tubes and then a Dyno Tune.

Then my nubile friend...you will have the start of a bad-assed machine !!!

Welcome !!!

The Stage 1 remap that's given when you buy Victory's/Cobra exhaust systems works perfectly with my Bassani 2 into 2 exhaust system. I liked the Bassani because they were well made, lightweight, and not tooooooo loud and I didn't have to give up any mid-range...PEACE :sbike1:SAFE...P.S. My bike is a 2013 Vegas 8-Ball....

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm going to be keeping the Conquest pipes. What i'm planning on doing today is spraying the pipes with a black high temp paint.... install for cure. Then wrapping them again with new wrap... install for burn in. Then painting the wrap with black DEI high temp silcone spray.

Might take a couple of days but I'll get her done.

Any advice regarding sandwiching the wrap with paint? I figure this is basically 3 layers of protection.
