So I tried to get tricky and extend the USB connection up to my Handlebar phone mount so I could listen to my music via the phone and see my maps. All seemed good until I started the bike then lost connection and phone was acting weird. I am guessing either the spark plugs just the engine running affected the USB cable.
Anyone else try this before?

I've charged things on my Vision while riding with no issue.

I use the USB on my Garmin Zumo 590 harness to do that. You could also just plug your phone into the fairing outlet and use Bluetooth to play music.

Or just purchase a "shielded" USB extension cable. This will prevent the interference (noise) from the spark plugs. They're around $6 on Amazon.
