Turn signal issues. Where to find an aftermarket ACM

So i'm having some weird issues with my turn signals. I have done some research and concluded that i need to replace the ACM. But I'd like to get some other opinions just to be sure.

I bought a 2007 Vegas about a month ago. I soon noticed that when I used the turn signals the indicator light would flash until I turn it off (never self cancel) but the turn signals would only flash once then stop even when the indicator said they were still on. I found L.E.D. bulbs (that have 2 nubs on the bottom like they are meant for a dual filament socket) in the front turn signals so i thought they must be screwing something up. I still had one working regular bulb in the rear (the other was shot). I got 4 new 1156 bulbs put them in and the only thing it will do is half light up the filament for a second (on all the bulbs). Not even long enough to fully illuminate the bulb.

Now for the really weird part. If I take the one original regular bulb that I have from the rear (its an amber bulb) and put that in any socket as long as I don't have a bulb in the same side other socket the amber bulb will blink like normal. So if I put the amber bulb in the front right with no bulb in the rear right it will work. Same thing if i put the amber bulb in the rear right with no bulb in the front right. Same thing for the left side.

Now if i try and put a brand new bulb in say the left front and the amber in the left rear neither will work. If I put just a new bulb in with the other socket empty it will not work.

I assume that the led bulbs the previous owner put in blew the ACM. I think that since the ACM must be damaged with 2 bulbs the ACM must be seeing too much load or something but it perplexes me that the amber bulb still works but none of the brand new ones do. They all have the same resistance (all the new ones, 8 total, and the amber bulb)

I've seen that the ACM blowing up seems to be a fairly common occurrence and it's pretty expensive to replace. I saw someone using a badlands illuminator to replace the ACM. Has anyone else done this? The only one we can use is the hardwired version since they don't make a plug and play for victyory's, correct? I want to use the badlands beause I also want to replace the turn signals with LED versions soon so then I wont need a load equalizer too (since the badlands has that built in). Thanks for your input guys.

I found no resistors anywhere. So I'm assuming my ACM is fried.

No one offers a easy fix for this?

I got a Badlands pro 3 but I'm going to have to re wire the turn signal switch and probably change the brake light. I cant believe somebody doesnt make a plug and play for this.

Hello zifoid. I know this post is nearly 4 years old, but I have a similar problem on my 2006 Jackpot. I was looking for an affordable alternative (the ACM now lists at $375) so I was wondering if the Badlands module worked for you. If so, do you have a wiring diagram, sketch, or even a description of how this was installed? Thanks.

Yes, I downloaded the electronic version quite some time ago. I ran through the diagnostics and came back with code 15 which indicates either Right Hand Circuit Over-Current or a shorted bulb. All the bulbs on the Right side do work (I moved them to the left side to verify this) so I am in some sort of OC situation. A bit more research and help from folks on another forum helped me conclude that it is indeed the ACM. Like I said, at this point I was just looking for some lower cost alternatives to remedy the situation.
Thanks again.
