I have read somewhere on the forum about coverting the stock antenna XC into a shorter Rubber Duck type antenna. I have almost poked myself in the eye with stocker. If I recall someone makes these replacement antennas,and it requires a 7/16 bolt with the head cut off to be used as an adapter for the base. If anyone recalls the article or has some info it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Still don't understand the whole 'bolt and cutting' discussion. If you get the right one from auto parts store, you just screw it in.

Screw on e on should be it, I removed my antenna and screwed a black allen bolt into its place. I have a Kuryaken tuner in the fairing, Slipped out the headlight assy and plugged this one in, headlight back in and all done.10 minutes including sipping pepsi. Seems to work well, really I use the IPOD mostly anyway.
