I know there have been a number of posts about the benefits of doing this mod, but I wanted to know if there is any downside? I have an '10 Crossroads and pulled the strip when I cleaned the air filter last weekend. Immediately noticed more kiddy up, pull and a deeper exhaust note. I have stage 1 presently and didn't unplug the o2 sensors. We get lots of rain here in Eastern Canada and I'm a little concerned about water getting in the air box. Thanks.

The actual purporse is exactly what you think Sundog. It is there to mainly meet EPA noise requirements....and I would venture to guess there is some emmissions issue as well. Victory is just giving the Federal government what they want.
