I've had my bike one week today and have 300 miles on it and the rear brake still squeals. I noticed it on a few YouTube bike reviews, so it seems normal, but it has to go away at some point... When might that be? lol

I've seen there is a product that exists to stop the pad from squealing. I understand the squealing comes from a vibration of the pad in the calliper. This stuff is some sort of lubricant.

Mine squeaked quite a bit, then less with more miles. After I tightened the belt and got the rear wheel aligned, it stopped completely. Probably an isolated case, but thought I would mention it.

You are correct that is wear the squel comes form and there is a grease that I think EBC sells probably other manufactures also that you can apply to the back of the pad and it will go away, we use to sell it at our shop, works great.

Just FYI, my brake stopped squeeling around 400-500 miles. I also did a good cleaning (localized water blast) of the rear brake. I focused on areas where there are metal to metal (i.e. where the caliper slips on the swing arm) and it helped some. Just letting it break in seemed to do the most, though.
