Well I ordered a custom Corbin seat for my 2008 Victory Arlen Ness Jackpot. My wife likes to go with me so I had to order the dual tour seat. Well I went all out and ordered the dual tour with dual backrests and the seat is all tan alligator. Well I thought for sure the tan alligator would look good but the seat looks like crap! I'm so dissapointed... Anyways thats my own fault and a different matter...

I just finished struggling for 2 hours in the garage removing my stock seat and trying to fastenthe new seat on and...
Of course the seat is off center a bit. When the back is set onto the"peg bolt" the two side bolts dont line up. Well the left side "drivers side" does line up but the seat is about 1/8th of aninch too far that direction and the other sidewont line up. Also the toung of the seat where it frenches into the tank is really high. It doesn't set down into the tank's "V" at all. I am very dissapointed with themanufacturing of this seat.

Even the directions they sent me are screwed up. Itsays it's for my bike and it describes the seat the but latch at the back must be different because they say to put it onto the"peg bolt" and push downuntilyou hear two clicks... This isstupid because it's not a latch system it's a piece of metal with a hole in it and then a slot so the peg will enter and then when you slid the seatahead the peg bolt slides into a narrow track thatnolonger allows the seat mounted bracket to lift off.

I'm going to have to paymy local bike mechanic to try and help me with this. :(

Anyways... Thats my rant after coming into the house at10:00pm after fighting with thisstupid seat and having workeda 12 hour day...

Sorry to hear that your having trouble geting your seat to fit.If you cant get it to fit & corbing gives you grief im hoping you paid with a credit card,if you did contact your credit card provider ,tell them the problem they should help you out.
How do i know this? i had a problem not long ago & had to have the C.C folks do the leg work, got my money back after 3 months.

Thanks for the info. Yes I did pay with a credit card. I hope it doesnt come to that. I really hope it fits because even though im not thrilled about how it looks my wife and I cant wait another 9 weeks for another seat and thats even if they did help me out. I just wanna ride and enjoy the summer so I will be doing everything I can to make this damn seat fit if it means I gotta wrap it to the bike with Duct Tape!

I really hate to deliver bad news, Bro. I have owned 3 great Corbin's over the years. I bought one new for my Kingpin and when I bolted it on, it was like a hobby horse rocking back and forth. I could have made it work, but for what they charge, why should I? Their quality is not what it once was.

Send it back and make them give you a delivery date. I don't think they have their head out of their azz some days. Sounds somewhat like my expience with them. I wish I had better news for you.
Someone worked really hard to make Corbin what they used to be. I hope who ever that was wakes up and sees what is happening with them. F rating with the BBB. Who'd a thunk it.
On a positive side, all the ills were fixed, finally. Only took them 16 weeks to do it. Lots of run around and a call to the BBB. It did come back, I swore I'd do it myself if it was hosed, but to somewhat of their credit it was good.
Stay after them and make them do it right. Their seats are expensive and supposed to be custom for the bike and you.
Good Luck

I have in the past purchased 2 Corbin seats, neither was satisfactory. The first time around I figured, OK not really satisfied but I can live with it. After being stung twice by the poor service and attitude they display I have made sure that they will not get any more of my hard earned dollars.

Wish youbetter luck than I had. They have a very poor attitude as far as customer service IMHO.

Well I just read a blurb on their website about how their seats are "supposed" to be hard to install the first few times...
First few times? what the hell... Who takes their seat off and on all the time? I plan on doing this ***** of a job once and thats it!
They recommend using WD40 on the bottom of the rubber pads that set on your bikes fender and frame. Will the WD40 doanything to mypaint?
Apparently the WD40 lubricates the pads enought tobe able to jamb the seat tighter forward and this might make itpossible to obtain the little bit ofmovement I need to thread a bolt in the rightside...

We will see. I wont"RED FLAG" corbin in my books just yet... I will do what they recommend andthen I will loose my ****.

I had corbin build the seat for my first chopper, 2 months and it looked like a 3 year old did it, fit was irrelevant because I was custom making the bike so it was pretty standard, but the seat cost me around $1000 and the materials they used and craftsmanship were not even second rate, more like fourth or fifth.... Never again, either make it myself, locally done, or mustang.... For factory stuff mustang can not be beat, if you want an exotice cover material than just have it recovered locally or find a leathersmith on the internet to take care of you...

I am sorry to hear about your experience and I wish it was different, but good for you for stating it on here so others can be forewarned..

There is a difference between tight fit, and rodeo fit. Sounds like you had the rodeo and it still didn't go on right. I had to rodeo the first time around. Took pics and wrote it all down so as to show and tell and not forget anything.
Second offering fit like a new glove. Snug but comfy.
Cisco, firm done right is a great ride. Firm done wrong is just hard and painfull. They know how to do it right. Of course everyone has their tastes. Used to have a Hartco, harder than the corbin. All day, night and next day comfort. Wife didn't even dismount as gas stops unless the girls room type service was needed.
Cheers

This is a damn shame because I sat on the seat just to see how it felt and I was impressed with how it molded to my body and I didn't feel any pressure points. I really hope a case of Red Bull and two strong men can wrestle this seat into place.

I bought a Corbin for my 06 pin last year at their outlet in Daytona. They mounted it for me and had some difficulty. The issue was the rear mounting bracket did not line up very well so they had to use the one off of my factory seat. The first guy doing the install was a new employee and once they saw him struggling with it one of the old timers stepped in to help. It went on without too much trouble after that. As far as comfort goes some say they are hard but to me it is firm but comfortable. Corbin told me the breakin period for their seat was about 1000 miles while others on this forum claim they never break in. I would imagine if you were 115 pounds soaking wet you may think it a bit harder than someone my size does. I like my Corbin seat and so does my daughter who rides on the back. I can ride hundreds of miles without issue so for me it is just fine. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your seat. I would also agree with you that tan looks great until you put it on a bike then it looks out of place.

THE SEAT IS ON!

Yep my cousin cameover today and gave me a hand. Once I lubed up the rubber feet on the bottom of the seat with some ArmourAllit gave me the ability to have mycousin push the seat "hard" forward and that gave me enough room to install the bolts.

Butt...
There is still a problem. The nose of the seat that frenches into the tank is not centered properly. It is too far left (Driversside) and rubs the tank fairly hard. Over time this will probably cause the seat to wear and split appart on the seem and it will rub my paint off. I will have to get some clear 3M tape from a body shop and put it on the tank and the seat to try and prevent this as best I can.
I will get some photos of this as soon as I can.
I think I will still call Corbin and report this issue since it is a pretty big deal when your seat and tank are chaffing rather hard against eachother.

I don't know what they can do about it now though???

Oh andmy wife and I went for a ride on it today for aboutan1.5 hours and we both loved it. The seat is firm but it's perfect and has no pressure points even for my wife.
Just the nose of the seat is the issue at hand as of now.

My flamed stich corbin for my 09 KP is perfect. Sorry to hear your having probs.

If you go to The VMC and search through the archives you will find many posts about Corbin and Victory and most aren't good. Most owners I have known over the years prefer Mustang seats or have a custom seat guy do the stock seat over. Places like Sturgis have vendors where you can drop your seat off go have some food and brews and pick it up in a few hours. Some owners do it themselves with an electric knife to trim the foam.
Good luck.

Corbin is a hit and miss outfit.. Why people buy thier rock hard seats is beyond me. They must be comfy. Fit is never a reason to buy one.
I've had 3 Corbin seats. Yes comfy (1-Honda Magna V65, 2 different Honda VTX 1800 (N/C). Doesn't have to be all squishy, in fact I don't like my stock seat now because it is all squishy. Just enough padding on a seat that "hugs your butt", gives me more comfort on a long day.
I haven't gotten one for my CCT at this point. I've talked to others that has not been satisified with thier Victory custom seats. Plus, I've needed the funds elswhere in life. And I'm looking for probably alternatives.
Sad that a product that was so good, is struggling to get back to that mark. If I do go back to Corbin, I'll make it a 3 day weekend and ride to the CA factory for a custom bike/rider fit.
