Well It does say suitable for wet clutch. Then it says designed for HD air cooled motors. It could possibly be a do all oil. I think there’s some marketing involved here and I’m willing to bet Mobil 1 just wanted this oil to be HD specific. So they left the Jaso classification off the bottle as to not scare the diehard Harley boys away. Well sounds good anyway. Only time will tell Mike and your the guy to give it the test bud. Good luck. I hope it works out because it is an excellent oil for the motor.

I never understood why people want to "cheap out" when it comes to oil. There is always good, better, best when buying things. I usually pick better or best depending what it is and how valuable
the device is to me. A push lawn mower I have no problem putting good oil in it, but my bike gets the best and my vehicles get better. My bike is air cooled, so is the push mower. But the Bike gets ran harder than the push mower does and the bike is worth more. Everyone has choices in life. I choose to use JASO rated oil in my bike because that is what the manufacturer calls for in it. If others think they know better than the manufacturer does, hey, you do you. I would rather not want to "experiment" with my bikes oil.

That mobil oil says recommended by Exxon for use in HD. I'd rather it say "recommended by HD for use in HD" . The oil company, like politicians, will tell you anything just to get you to buy what they are selling.

Well cheap no but reasonable for a high quality oil yes. I’m not afraid to try new oils. Oil and tires I’ve tried more in the last 50 plus yrs then I can remember. But yes I am switching because Redline has just gotten stupid. And at some point it becomes a principal thing. Can i afford Redline lol yes that’s definitely not the issue. But 2 and 3x more than others is out of control in my eyes. So I’m looking for the equivalent of very close. And if it fails 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol I’ll try others

I always said. Find what works and stick with it. Cheap oil isn’t exactly “cheap “ it’s just better priced due to mostly distribution. Take Walmart for instance's. Theres plenty of top tier oil in the automotive section. From Mobil 1 to Royal Purple. To even the Valvoline Restore and Protect. The prices at Walmart are $10 less a jug than any other place including Amazon. Hell look at Tractor Supply! Ultra Plus 1 for $5.99 a bottle ? Yet other sources show it for sale at $10 plus or more.
So the question is what exactly is going cheap regarding your MC oil ? IMO it’s best to change sooner than later. I wouldn’t want an oil that claims 7k oil intervals. Or even 10k ???? No way. Not in an air/oil cooled gear driven tranny wet clutch freedom 106 ! I want decent oil and want to change every 3k

In the Dino oil days I was 2500 religiously . As I’ve said today I’d like to do 5000 but comfortably with a high quality oil. Redline was a recommendation of 7500. Never happen with me. Mobil is another one also never happen with me. I will see what it looks like at 3000 and again at 4000 and see what I’m dealing with color wise. If I don’t like what I see I may be 4000 with this which is doable also.

I understand you going to 5k. Your trips are usually that long atleast and I wouldn’t want to have to change oil in a parking lot in the middle of a trip. I think you’re good with this Mobil 1 Vtwin in an Indian Mike. Ride on brother !

Only once on a road trip did I drop on the road Vic. 6800 in 14 days we were looking at. Just a bit much for as hard as we were running that trip. 5g we all dumped my peace of mind and OCD not dealing with it lol

Conquest customs in Boca Raton Florida used to use Lucas in their service to Victory. They went to Spectro Golden 4 as in their opinion it was better and lasted longer. Not sure what Lucas blend they were using but I remember Scott Saying within 2K miles or there abouts it needed to be changed. The oil didn’t hold up. Pretty sure it was semi syn but could have been straight Dino oil. He was the reason I switched to Spectro from Amsoil as The Golden 4 semi syn was the correct spec and was formulated for victory. Back then even buying from him it was $10 a bottle and less on line. To this day I still have no issue with Spectro. Actually I like it just fine. I just don’t like that a semi synthetic oil with who knows how much synthetic is actually in the bottle costs as much or more than full synthetic oil.
The new owners at Spectro made this change no doubt and imo it’s a great way to loose customers.
Again IMO a shared oil with gear driven transmission and wet clutch in a hot air/ oil cooled motor need not be in service more than 3k miles. There are plenty good choices with fair pricing to handle the task.
Ultra 1 Plus
Lucas Semi syn
Actevo semi syn
To name a few …… that are Jaso MA 2 rated oils which means more grippy like a hippy !
Ride On !

Plus the Lucas full synth which is what I started using with great success. Like I said, I haven't been able to locate any reference to Lucas semi-synth 20-50 with the Jaso MA 2 rating. Maybe it was a special order product.

I believe only 10/40 is available in the semi syn motorcycle oil for wet clutch. Which is fine for Victory especially in the cooler months. With a Jaso MA2 classification and At $9.99 a qt it’s a decent choice. Still it’s hard to beat the Ultra1 plus out of tractor supply price ! $5.99
