Just getting this one started to get everyone thinking, and because it seems like some folks have to reserve time off earlier and earlier ..
For newer folks- we've done this run a couple times now. (called last year due to unusually bad Wx) For both prior runs the base camp was established @ the Mountain Aire Inn in Blowing Rock, NC. This is obviously open to discussion, but it's a great spot and right in the thick of some of the best riding in North America. They love our group and are very flexible. The tradition (if you want to call it that) has been to meet at MM 0 Afton/ Blue Ridge Parkway, and off we go. Take the BRP to the front door.
High Level points:
This area is home to some of the most famous and challenging roads in the country. (time from Blowing Rock)
The Diamondback (1 hr)
Copperhead Loop (2 hrs)
Tail of the Dragon (4 hrs)
Cherahola Skyway (4 hrs)
and others...

- Spouses are welcome. (Plenty of stops for those female bladders)
- All riders/ bikes welcome- but you (AND your passenger) need to be comfortable in the twisties for everyone's safety. It can get a little "spirited" at times
- Your bike needs to be in good working order. Get your tires, and other maintenance done ahead of time. If you are having any known issues that could or will likely get worse- please get them resolved.
