Madstad, brackets installed today

Iceman - I put mine on today as well and got an hour ride in before dinner and the rain. What a difference. I'm using my 13" Cee Baileys and get zero head buffetting. I went through four windshields and finally found the madstad system.
If you are reading this thread wondering if you should get the madstad system, just do it. Don't waste your money or time trying to find the right windshield when this system really works. I'm thrilled.
Unlike others, I don't mind the wind coming up from the forged crash bars. The Bakers Air Wings might be my next investment just to calm things down a little or help deflect wind on a cold or rainy ride home.
Good luck with the kewlmetal winglets. Let us know how things turn out!

Thanks. I'm thrilled about the madstad brackets. I'm going to order one of their 11" shields on Monday. Any suggestions on tint? I like the idea of dark, but probably medium dark would be a safer choice.
I think their shields are wider too. That will take care of a lot of wind! My cee baileys is clear. I want to be able to see through it at all times. I know the grey looks cool, but I gotta see! Be safe. Again, keep us posted on your winglets...

I'm going to order the brackets this week but i think I want to try them on my stock shield first. Do you think I'm wasting my time trying them with the stock shield? I'm so confused....UGH my bike is two weeks old and I cant go over 70Km ( from Canada) I called Madstad today but they are closed untill Monday.
If you are going to order the madstad system, I would try the original shield before spending any more money - I went through four shields before getting the madstad. Depending on your height, it might just work for you. I'm 6'2" ish and am using the 13" cee baileys. I'm thinking about trying the original shield just to see if it will work for me too. With the madstad system, there is a lot of room to move the original shield up... I ordered mine on Monday night and had it by Friday. From my experience, they have great customer service. Very helpful. Call them Monday and order it!

So , I just did about 300 miles on my XC with the stock windshield and am very curious about the madstad brackets. I am right at 6'1". Should I look at getting the taller shield to go with the brackets or would the stock shield work fine for my height? I understand there is a good amount of adjustments that you can make, but would rather just buy a set if I have to and do it all at once versus getting the brackets installed then realizing I should have gotten a bigger shield too. Help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks

J
I'm about 6'2" and am using a 13" cee baileys. With all the adjustments, An 11" would probably work. I haven't had time to try oem shield - too much rain... I would call madstad Monday or send support an email - they'll be honest with you!
