Hey Vics, thinking about putting some LED light strips on my Boardwalk. Where did you connect the power besides run directly to the battery? Ideally, I want to shut off the bike along with the LED lights. Where's the website link to buy the lights? Thanks.

I would run to battery and switch. You want the led on all the time when riding ? Too much attention !

This is a good consideration, some jurisdictions are not friendly to underglow type lighting. If you are worried about forgetting to turn the lights off and want to idiot-proof the setup you could put a relay, triggered by a switched circuit, in series with your switch so you can choose when you want the LEDs on or off while ensuring they can only be on if the key is also on.

If you choose to use an existing switched circuit on the bike to power your LEDs directly, adding a manual on/off switch would be smart to give you the option to ride without them. Make sure you know the power needs of your new lights and the needs of anything already on the circuit so you don't overload it and pop fuses or overheat wires.

I can turn mine on/off w/ button, also have remote to change colors, flash patterns etc. Came on bike & was nicely installed, had 2 great previous owners I stay n contact with.

Thank you for these valuable and detailed inputs!

I have these on each of my Visions. Cheap and easy. I've had both for several years and use them every time I ride at night. I did have one strip go out and with a email they sent a replacement. Since it's all custom and simply clips together it was a simple fix and I was back to good.

As others have said you can not run with lights on everywhere and in some places only certain colors. Tx is white or amber now. I still run mine blue most the time and in my experience most police officers really don't care..... But there's always that one guy. That's why I went with a multicolor system. I figured if I meet him maybe I could make him happy with a quick press of a bottom on my remote.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and info. It's very helpful on my project!

Just don`t forget - the specific feature of any LED strip for the moto is that the normal strip shines with an angle of 120 degrees - such light is unacceptable. It`s necessary to create an angle of light of 30 degrees, then it`ll create a visibility of at least 300 meters. This refers to headlights. The optimum degree of luminescence is created by reflectors and lenses. Also keep in mind that the color temperature should match the ribbon. As for me, I connected directly from the battery, as this allows the strip to remain independent of all motorcycle electricity. I installed myself............... they shine well and have an extra feature, but the choice is yours.
Who are you and why are you here? I'm thinking spammer.

Red should be included as every vehicle has red lights on the rear and side since the late 60s.
I still roll with the blue that matches my gauges. Nobody has stopped me and I haven't heard of any officer stopping anyone for it. That's never been a big thing for the officers I've known and worked with.
