Ok everyone is upset got it. Fact is the deal is done and our brand is no longer being produced in it's current form.

Get over it.

Polaris tanks 10K unit production, that is 10K units of potential income, that has got to hurt the bottom line in a big way. So how are they going to make that up? They can't be hanging their hat on a 10K increase in Indian MC sales at least in the current line up. So what is in store for the future?

Polaris want to hold the IP and tech on the Vic line, statements from those who deal with and talk to the factory are not jumping off buildings, something is coming down the pike. Retool, rework, new product line or merged with improvements? Lots of info dancing around but nothing confirmed.

The brand was allow to die. No improvements in the X bikes, Vision or steel frames. A splash in the water cooled power plant market..... two line competing against each other but only one having attention....

I submit that in the near future more will come of this only makes sense from a financial viewpoint. Loose some customer base, Most likely yes. Gain some new customers, yes without a doubt. Question is what are they planning ?

In the mean time our bikes are reliable, comfortable and fun. Not too many sitting in the repair shops, lots on the road. Support is available, part are available and most here will not keep their ride that long anyway. A few will and that few will always find a way to make it run.

I bet, that the new line will include touring twins that are water cooled and better equipped that what we are seeing now. There is a possibility to crush the competition or be crushed by them... So there is a plan Just hope it is a good one.

Now lets get back to riding and talking bikes.

And not one political or religious word in that post..... Now what am i going to argue about with it..... Logic always seem illogical to me.....

Amen, Brother Squatch.
Who with any business sence would drop a great bike and keep spending money and time developing a piece of shirt three wheeler that doesn't sell ,looks cheap , and tons of warrenty?? The same idiot what would aim the advertising of a great bike to potential customers by bashing their brand that has lots of problems but loyal customers! They did not bad mouth the number one selling bike to sell their Indian, guess what HD riders are the biggest buyers of Indian !! Go figure! Dumb asses! WTF love Harel love victory motorcycle better! Never did like anything polaris till they built victory! , I knew they couldn't do it right! Lol

Squatch you could be correct about them coming out with a new model. I honestly think they could never have released a brand new model in the Victory touring class with all the bells and whistle, and bigger motor at the current prices of their touring line. I know they got away with it with the X-1 model and I have no clue how. The X-1s in my opinion should've been the same price a regular CC. Well enough with that back to the big picture.

If Indian does come out with a big motor touring bike with modern styling; I'm sure it will come with a huge price tag. I'm thinking it will be up there par with the CVOs price tag. The people that are in love with the Victory looks, comfort, performance, etc... will most likely throw the money down for one. If I'm in the market for a new bike I probably will; since there is nothing out there in the market right now that beats the CC for comfort and performance in my opinion. Now if you could still choose from the current CC, CCT, or Vision that would lower the number of people that would buy one of the new models just based off of price alone.

Squatch could be right and I think he is, but Indian already has it's top of the line and bottom for that matter. If there is something (I think there is) coming down the pipe it would be based on the Chief without the fenders that are polarizing and maybe a bigger H2O motor than the scout.

So do you have an indian classic and a victoryized Indian. It's debateable . Who is Indian's customer? To me it's Harley's exact same customer. Harley has realized the demographic is changing with a range of smaller bikes etc. I don't think you can count any possibility out . But the vrod didn't really work out for HD. Why would an OH cam bike work for Indian.
One other point- Harley is in the motorcycle business polaris seems to be in the leveraged buy out business. How many people are going to trust polaris again? Thats a time will tell thing. But as has been said, we do have good bikes that will stay good for a long time to come.
The real unfortunates in this clusterfarg are those making payments on bikes that others will snap up in the short term for less than what these folks still owe. Not to mention owners with stand alone dealerships.
A big point for me is this resource (the vog, utube etc ) and the commradeire and knowlegeable advice isn't going anywere.

Well, hell. I thought this forum ran on rumor and speculation.

It's been rumored that there is some early speculation about somebody building motorcycles. Could it be true?
