Ok everyone is upset got it. Fact is the deal is done and our brand is no longer being produced in it's current form.
Get over it.
Polaris tanks 10K unit production, that is 10K units of potential income, that has got to hurt the bottom line in a big way. So how are they going to make that up? They can't be hanging their hat on a 10K increase in Indian MC sales at least in the current line up. So what is in store for the future?
Polaris want to hold the IP and tech on the Vic line, statements from those who deal with and talk to the factory are not jumping off buildings, something is coming down the pike. Retool, rework, new product line or merged with improvements? Lots of info dancing around but nothing confirmed.
The brand was allow to die. No improvements in the X bikes, Vision or steel frames. A splash in the water cooled power plant market..... two line competing against each other but only one having attention....
I submit that in the near future more will come of this only makes sense from a financial viewpoint. Loose some customer base, Most likely yes. Gain some new customers, yes without a doubt. Question is what are they planning ?
In the mean time our bikes are reliable, comfortable and fun. Not too many sitting in the repair shops, lots on the road. Support is available, part are available and most here will not keep their ride that long anyway. A few will and that few will always find a way to make it run.
I bet, that the new line will include touring twins that are water cooled and better equipped that what we are seeing now. There is a possibility to crush the competition or be crushed by them... So there is a plan Just hope it is a good one.
Now lets get back to riding and talking bikes.
