Is Victory going to do anything about their prices?

I've been wanting to buy a new CCT but the 23 thousand dollar price tag is terrible. You can buy a brand new 300 hp Ford Mustang with A/C and power windows for that much.
Why would they charge so much?
I really hope they lower the price a little.

What about a return customer buyers discount?

So in 6 months, dealerships are selling the samebrand new bike for almost 5 thousand dollars cheaper.
How do customers feel about that?
6 months ago, they paid 5k more than what they could've bought it for.
Shoot,I doubt they paid off that much of their loan by now to make up that difference.
That hurts...

I tried to like the Vision, but it just doesn't apeal to me. Nothing against them, but not for me.

Is there some special club I need to be in or secret handshake I need to know to get a decent price on a new XCT?
You might consider a used XC I bought my 2011 XC used November 2011 with 1600 miles and saved almost 3000 dollars.

It was $15,999 the dealer doesn't charge any set up or Destination charges I bought it in Wisconson I live in IL about 40 miles from WI about 75 miles from the dealer It's the XC not XCT I emailed 5dealers 3 in IL 2 in WI only the 2 in WI responded I traded a 2007 H-D FLHT in on it. I paid tax in IL where I titled it. Sticker on it was $18,999 the other dealer in WI had a 2 tone demo with 1000 miles on it he wanted $1000 more for the demo than I paid for the new Black XC I bought. My dealer is in Elkhorn WI great people I take the bike back to them for sevice.

Just got back from the local dealer. I worked with them for about 2 hours. The best price they want to give is 23K, out the door price on a 2013 base, black, XCT.
I have a great credit score and could get financed no problem, but I think that price is high.
What do you all think?
I usually feel it is a really good deal if I get out the door paying MSRP with everything included in our State. With that said you are just about there on probably the 2nd hottest moving bike Victory sells... Thats not to bad.

The prices don't seem to have increased much over the past five years. In fact, one could argue that we are now getting more bang for our buck.
If you look at the Vegas, it is actually cheaper then it was :)

Porkchop --- If your credit is iffy, try a credit union. That's where I got my financing. I bought my 2012 Vision with 1 mile on her at the end of September last year (shortly after the '13s came out). Paid $20k out the door. Seemed reasonable on a $21k bike. :)
Decide what you want and call every single dealer in the country and let them know what you want. If there's a specific color (I didn't care) or option you want, make sure you tell them. Give them your name and phone number and let them look. Call them back in a a week. Don't go by the "I've checked other dealers on my special Vic computer system and it says nothing else is available.". Do the leg work yourself. Also look on Cycletrader, eBay, Craigslist, etc. The bike you want at the price you want to pay IS out there. You just have to have patience and/or the willingness to buy gently used/demo/etc. My next bike will probably be either gently used or a demo.
This is exactly the route I took when purchasing my new 2012 holdover XC in April. I wanted the 2012 red/silverXC that was new, notused or a demo. I started looking in January of this year, and none could be found anywhere close to where I live (North Dakota). The few dealers close to me all said, "Those aren't available anymore at any dealer, it's last year's model." I knew there had to be one somewhere. Through the good old internet, I found one in Denver and one in Lincoln, NE. I was willing to travel to get what I wanted, and got a great deal in Denver. It took a lot of patience, phone calls, and 750 miles one way to get it, but I got exactlywhat I wanted: a brand new 2012 XC in red/silver, fora great price! Patience does pay off.

A man rides into a bike dealer, steps away from his present ride and asks the owner of the Vic shop what the net will be on a deal including the trade that is sitting outside.
I got some very different answers for an all cash deal. One dealer told me he would have to push my HD off to a HD dealer because he would not keep it in stock for resale. His net cost to me was well over $8K. Another dealer who already had 2 of my year, make, model and color on his showroom floor told me he could sell me what I wanted for about $4500 net. I did nothing to coerce either one of them, just treated them with respect, talked bikes with each of them for a few minutes before stating what I wanted and waited on their first move. I told them I didn't care what the paperwork showed on prices, I just wanted their best out the door offer. Why would I care if they sold me the bike for $50K if they gave me $46K for my trade? I did not argue with either one about his offer since I found it good enough at $4500. I traded a 2 year old HD in decent but not pristine condition for a new 2013 Vision.
Both dealers would have had to order my bike since neither of them had what I wanted in stock. I frankly didn't care about that because I figured they would be able to get a bike delivered if it was already sold pending delivery. It took just a bit over 2 weeks to arrive. I even did my first long ride of the year on my HD because I didn't have my Vision yet. It was about 6 hours each way to a location in Michigan from here in central Illinois. That means my trade had about 1000 more miles on it than when we started talking. I told the dealer that and he didn't seem to care. Next week I get my 500 miles service done on my Vision at around 700 to 800 miles because the shop is pretty busy this time of year.

You may want to reconsider that Mustang. Good luck to you.
Why? because Idislike dealerships and sales guys?
I'm already putting my new mustang purchase on hold until I get a new bike and pay it off.
I see nothing wrong with wanting more options as a buyer.I'd personally love to be able to order a new bike, in a crate, withonly the options I want/need. I don't really need heated seats nor heated grips. That should lower the price 1K right there LOL. Heck, if changing the color from black toanother color option is 500 bucks, I wonder if it could be available in primer?Shoot, there's another 1Ksaved! LOL I'd pay like 200 bucks fora gallon of PPG Deltron paint and spray that sucker the day I got it.

iabob, thanks! Thats some jedi master info man!I'll try to use that tactic next time.
Thanks everyone. I feel like I got some good tips and feel better about going back to the dealer. I think I have some ammo to lay down and hopefully we'll get to a deal.

Chicago_Mark, I wanted the white XCT soo bad, but the two dealers around me said they couldn't locate a single one that hasn't been modified by the dealership. I'd settle for a black one and then just paint it after a few years to whatever color I want. That white one was just...mmmmmmmmmm.

As for finding a dealer that likes me, to be honest, I couldn't care less if they liked me or not. I would be perfectly happy, no scratch that, I'd be flippin ecstatic if I could order directly through the factory and cut out the 'middleman' dealerships. They're leaches in the market that do absolutely zero for me and my ability to purchase a new bike and assemble it from a shipping crate. I'd even video tape myself putting it together just to have proof for the factory that I assembled it correctly and followed the correct steps. That would make me happy as a kid on christmas!!!

LOL, every time I visit a dealership, its usually in black and white, raining, and something, somewhere, has gone terribly, terribly wrong. hehe
You may want to reconsider that Mustang. Good luck to you.

As an aside, when the 2013 prices came out, I started a thread about how all the prices seemed to have increased by $2,000. Shortly thereafter, MaVic changed the link to reflect Canadian prices only.

Andy's video reminded me of how everything seems to be more expensive in Canada … and California …

When i had a family to support no way could i have bought a $20,000 something motorcycle let alone two $20,000 something bikes. That being the past i now have two $20,000 something bikes a 2012 CCT & a 2012 Hardball,if they can keep up with any bike i honestley dont care but thinking that they will keep up with any bike doing the speed limit (right)?
Taking care of family is first & foremost in the past, present, future.
So buy what you can afford ,ride safe, enjoy life.I do..

I'm hard-pressed to spend 23K on a car much less a motorcycle. When you swipe a time card and have a wife and kids at home to support, one has to be a wise shopper in all respects. I'm not about being an idiot and put my family's financial stability in jeopardy by purchasing something stupid like a motorcycle, no disrespect. I have always bought used and knock on wood have had good luck with used thus far. I recently bought an 09 Vision Premium with 5800 miles from a reputable dealer and paid 13K. Had to buy a new battery to deal with the summer heat here in AZ and new rubber front/rear after about 1500 miles for the bike. So honestly, grand total about 13,800, but I'm good for another year. I think good deals can be had if you do the research and exercise some patience. Also, you can do all of the routine service on the Vision yourself with the exception of tire changes, which does appeal to me a great deal since I prefer to service my own bikes. As far as the styling on the Vision, I can take it or leave it. When it comes to styling, I have my wife call her interior decorator friend to pick out a color in the living room to match the new couch and loveseat we recently bought. I have never purchased a bike based on styling. I'm about overall handling, meat and potatoes, utility, function, and value. Frankly, styling would not be on my top ten list. I have a couple of close "iron butt" BMW buddies that I ride with on a regular basis. I enjoy riding with them because they are seasoned riders and I can always learn a little something every time we go out even though I am no slouch myself. I never want to be the third wheel and someone to wait up for on any ride. The bottom line is when pressed the Vision will keep up with the BMWs in the twisties. On the open highway that's a different story, but we usually keep it between 75-90mph. I cannot say the same for the XC because in my opinion the XC does not handle as well as the Vision at speed. In either case, I think you will be happy with both, but for me, the Vision will be the only bike in the Victory lineup I would actually own. Be safe out there and happy riding.

I think I'm seeing a couple things likely to cause you problems. One is you probably picked the most popular bike Victory is making right now. In the past and as of right now this may still be the case, dealers do not get an unlimited supply of bikes. They're only alloted so many per year and when Cross Country Tour's fly off the showroom floor almost as fast as they can be uncrated their's not a lot of incentive to wheel and deal. SOmetime this year a new Victory ordering system is due to be implemented that will allow dealers to replace sold inventory much faster and should alleviate some dealers unwillingness to break price. Secondly, unless I'm just getting the wrong vibe hear, you sound openly hostile to the very people you want to give you special treatment. If my perception is reality you're stacking the deck against yourself. Reality of the situation is without these "middlemen" dealers Victory's distrobution network breaks down and instead of selling thousands of bikes a year they might get a few hundred like yourself that want to pay for an LTL shipment and complete the assembly process themselves. In otherwords, no dealers, no Victory. Perhaps a different tactic to take would be to see this person as a future partner in your ownership experience and not someone just sucking off some unearned profit from you. Even if you do all the work yourself your going to need some tires, oil, brake pads, and the like right? How about t-shirts, jackets, gloves? Do you wear those things? What about accessories like bags, shields, chrome, loud pipes etc? I don't buy all that stuff from my dealer, but I do get some of those things from them. And, I get them at a discount. I spend less with greater convienence because I have a good relationship with them. Like I said, they're probably not going to spend a lot of effort responding to low ball offers. If they know they can get 23k out-the-door for all four XCT's they have...and some guy walks in, or worse yet calls them on the phone, or worse yet just sends them an email...and says I want that for 20k out the door or I walk...well if I was a dealer that just wouldn't strike me as the type of customer I'm going to have a good experience with. My advice is visit, RIDE THE DEMO, and get to know the salesperson by name. One salesperson at one dealership will strike you as the one you want to deal with. Tell him or her you plan on purchsing an XCT by X date, but you have some things you want worked into the deal. A) "If you can get me 20k out the door I'll be back this afternoon with cash." Hey just because it's improbable doesn't mean it's impossible, and now the salesperson knows how serious you are. B) "If I can't get that, let's talk about some other things that might sweeten the deal enough". For instance, How about the 500 mile service thrown in for free, a discount on the extended warranty, a discount on accessories or clothing, do you need storage over the winter, a discount on your next set of tires...lots of possibilities. I would bet with a little work you could put together some future discounts that save you a lot, almost as much as getting the bike for 20k out the door.

Thank you for all the advice!
After readingthese,I have hope again that I'll have my XCT soon. If I could get one for 20 out the door,I should have enough to buy one now. I'll just have to shop around the dealers in Florida, cause the onesaround me won't budge on theprice or they're talking in this shady tone that goes nowhere.
I'd like to pay 15 cash and finance the rest, but as soon as I mention finance, the sales people lose interest. I guess I need to try a different approach.
Hmm... lost my reply to this somehow?

Anyway, dont know if you tried Volusia but with $15,000.00 down you will have Andy's undivided attention since he is use to people coming in with a 400 beacon score, no money, a repossession and foreclosure pending :) Seriously, I know he will take care of you, just let him know I sent you (no I do not get a commission).

Becuase they can and the market will bear the price. It is a VALUE compared to the MC's I have ridden previously.
I normally never buy NEW as I am a cash buyer looking for a lightly used bike but after all the MC's I have owned I just fell into the kool aid as the CCT hit every point I was looking for and I got a decent trade in on my MC that I could live with.
