You need to bleed the system untl no bubbles come out. Be sure to keep the reservoir full.
I prefer the cable clutch over hydraulic. I traded a Kawasaki nomad on my cct and really like the cable clutch.

 

I'll see if I can find the installation guide at home but there was a spec for the movement. It's not much...only a few mm IIRC.

You could have air in the line even if the resevoir is full. Also, there are times that you can get an air bubble right where the bolt goes into the master cylinder. Good luck!

Are you sure the system is completly bled and filled? Also, the rod doesn't move much. Have you tried putting the bike in gear with the ignition off and then pulling in the clutch to see if it disengages?

I am pretty sure all the air is gone..The reservoir is full of fluid hmmmm.
