Just installed the Cee Flectors from Cee Bailey on my '11XC. 15 minute install and they make a dramatic improvement especially above 60 MPH. My 15 minute test ride grew into an hour. I think I'm ready for an Iron Butt this weekend. While installing them I really started looking at the top peace of my forged bar. The plastic is held on with rubber buttons (just like the side panels). The metal itself is held on with 4 bolts. What I've heard is that straight bar is what makes it impossible to mount the hard lowers to the Forged Bars. FOR PETE SAKE just redesign the top bar. Fiber Glass or PET can be molded to fit virtually any shape. Come on Victory quite jerking us around. I've got tons of storage behind me that I can not reach. I need some convenience storage up front, that I can reach while riding. While I'm on my soapbox. How about if you open the Kimono just a little bit so we can make smart choices about the things we order/do for the bike. Tell me that hard lowers that fit the forged bar will be ready in one/two years. You'd make me far more loyal, and more likely to buy if I knew the path you wear heading down. OK I feel better now.

I was looking at my bars on my xc yh other day and thought the same a hard lower that fit inside the bars with some storage along the top and a vent like on the xct if an affordable one doesn't come out some day I'll work on making it myself. Now I know someone will come out with something every time I think of doing something someone else does it befor me. Keep your rubber on the road & tank side up.

The problem with using the forged bars is the air coming over the top. The faring wings resolve that issue but are not compatible with the bars. I think that plus the fact that the forged bars are not aerodynamic when closed in due to their angle of attack is why Victory went the way they did. It's been 2+ years since the bike came out and up until just recently no vendor had taken the time to engineer anything. I hope the ones who are working on it really do come out with something but with such a small potential market I wouldn't be looking for anything at a bargain basement price. At $279 the CeeBailey products are a great value for improved wind management so as it stands now the options are CeeBailey, Baker (uglier than sin) and the Victory lowers. I fail to see the reason for the anger people seem to continue to have towards Victory because they didn't design it the way you wanted?

I can't speak for everyone of course but I feel a bit disappointed that Victory decided to go with the tubular bars and not the forged bars on there factory lowers. Almost betrayed because the forged bars are a signature part of the XC. I did cave though and ordered the factory lowers. Partly because I had the funds and partly because they increase the value of the bike whereas aftermarket stuff doesn't. Not that I plan on selling or trading it in. This one is a keeper.

HMD will be making a hard lower for the stock forged bars. they should be available by Nov. 1. Just check the website for details. http://www.hmd520.com/ Thanks Mike

An impoortant part of the wind management system on the Tour is the fairing wings. These will hit the forged bars if you turn the wheel very far. So, as MJW930 said, not compatible. I like the idea of the round bars because it makes available a very large selection of highway pegs (i.e.Harley, Kuryaken, etc.), a a LOT less money the Victory wants.
