My cruise control has stopped working. I have a '12 Cross Country (17k mi.). I noticed after washing it, it would take an hour or so of riding before the cruise control would come on (wind dried I suspect). It got progressively worse over time. Now it does not come on at all. The ON switch blinks green briefly but won't stay lit. Setting it doesn't work. It doesn't catch. This morning I took the switch apart to see if I could find the cause. It appeared clean. No sign of water in the switch. I know that the absence of obvious water damage doesn't mean there is no water damage. What I don't know is whether the switch is in fact dead, or whether the problem lies elsewhere. Anybody out there have a similar issue or heard of this? Any information you have will be greatly appreciated.

Two wire connectors on the throttle cable just under the right side of the tank (look from front). Unplug one of them and the cruise will likely work. The connectors are sketchy so water, dirt or seemingly wind makes the cruise not engage.
