I have not seen much information out there for this seat on the Vegas. Most people recommend the Mustang seat, but if you are like me and the Mustang seat puts you too far back and makes it difficult to reach the ground, then hopefully this information will be useful. Of note, I am 5’8” 185 lbs. with a 32” inseam, so for my short height I have longer legs and a short torso. As far as the looks of the seat on the bike goes, it looks awesome. It flows with the lines of the bike quite well and the leather makes it look nicer than the stock seat. It was easy to install, just as it should be and fit perfectly, didn’t have to do anything to make it fit. I bolted it straight on and was ready to roll. Corbin says that it takes about 2000 miles to break the seat in and as it breaks in it will conform to your body. It is quite stiff when you first sit on it and it made me wonder if it was going to be comfortable. I rode on it for a week without the driver’s backrest and then a week with the backrest attached for comparison. I only have about 200 miles on it so far, but my initial impressions are that it is getting more and more comfortable. After I put the backrest on, it has gotten extremely comfortable. Like I said the initial impression was that it was quite stiff, but my problem with the stock seat is that it was too squishy and allowed me to sink way too far into the seat and really hurt my tailbone. That is not going to happen on this seat. I think I realized why Victory makes the seat so squishy though, I realized it has been working with the shocks to take out a lot of the little bumps in the road. So the ride on the Corbin is a bit rougher, in that you feel more bumps up your back and if you hit a washboard road it shakes your head pretty good. I can live with that though as long as I don’t have a bruised tailbone anymore. With the stock seat I was having trouble riding for 20 min on the way to work because of the tailbone pain. With the Corbin, the first few days I had a couple of hot spots, but they weren’t from my tailbone. It was more directly below the meat of my butt. Kind of like if you sit in a metal folding chair too long. The more I have ridden it though, that has gone away and I have no issues at all on a 30-40 minute ride. Unfortunately I have not been able to take any longer rides. Every day I can feel the seat breaking in a little bit more. The ride has smoothed out from the first few days and I can feel the seat taking a lot of the bumps out. Still not as smooth as the stock seat, but better than it was the first few days. I have also felt that it has started molding to me, no more hot spots and I can feel that more of my butt is making contact with the seat. When I put the backrest on, it took the comfort to a whole new level. I don’t know if it changed the way I sit on the seat, but not only did it relieve any tightness in my back when riding, but it also seemed to force more of my butt in contact with the seat which spreads the weight out more. It might have just been the seat breaking in more, but it correlated to me putting the backrest on. The riding position of this seat is very similar to the stock seat. It is probably back a little bit, but also down a little bit. My legs are a little straighter, but still bent. On the Mustang seat, my legs were pretty much straight out on the pegs. Since it is also a lot closer to the bars than the Mustang seat, it allows me to sit upright instead of hunched over into a C shape to reach the handlebars. With the slightly lower seat, it feels like you are riding down in the bike instead of perched on top like with the Mustang. It lowers the center of gravity which helps handling a lot more than I would have expected. I also feel a lot more confident in turns because it feels so much more balanced. The riding position is really nice for my size, and for that reason alone I will be keeping this seat. I was a little apprehensive with the stiffness at first, but as I feel it softening up and breaking in I have come to like this seat even more. I will try and report back after some longer rides, but for now most of my riding is back and forth to work and it is more than adequate for that. A lot of what I have read about Corbins on other bikes is that the long distance is where you start to understand the philosophy of the stiffer seat, and that you either love it or hate it. I don’t hate it yet, so I hope I am in the love it category.

So, after a few years, what's the final verdict on the Corbin?

I purchased the Corbin Dual Tour for my 2015 Vegas 8-Ball the summer of 2016. I have about 1000 miles on it and find it to be much better than the factory seat. The riding position is pretty much the same forward and height. It gives added back support, without backrest, which helps me a lot. The more I ride it, the more I like it. I also love how it looks on the bike. Maintains the flow and look of this fluid bike while allowing two up. The fit is every bit as good as factory - just perfect. Well made! Not cheap though.

I had a Corbin Hollywood solo on my road king. Loved that seat. Comfy and looked good too.
