I was cleaning my Vision this afternoon and was noticing the cheese wedges and how there are two rows of dimples. Has anyone ever thought about putting lights in one of those rows. That is an idea I would like to try but not sure what would be the best way to do it. I am not sure if drilling all those holes out to put in the lights would be a good idea. Then I don't know if the clips would hold the extra weight of the lights. But I think it would look pretty cool to have two V's lit up on the side of my bike.
So Vision riders, give me your thoughts on this or idea's on how to do it an if you think it will work.

A freind of mine from Seattle put LEDs in the dimples. He is a mechanic so he has a leg up on me. He bought individual LEDs from superbrightleds.com. They actually have a help line or chat line not sure which and he helped him get the right parts. He drilled the holes and glued the lights in. He used red lights and it was pretty cool.

This is what I did.. Took 10 minutes, a drill and drill bit and 5 dollar lights from autozone http://www.thevog.net/forum/thread/16948/i-drilled-my-my-bike/

Thanks for the response. Do you think you could get some pictures on here. I saw one persons pictures on here and it looked to me like they drilled all the holes out and put maybe 3 lights behind each cheese wedge and those lights ligt up the motor and the wedges. I didnt' really think about that. What I would like to do is just light up the V in the cheese wedge. MIght even hook it in to the blinkers. It's just a thought going through my head. The blinker idea may not work.

Thanks for the reponse. Great idea. Didn't really think about just drilling the holes out and lighting up the motor and the wedge with back lights. I was thinking about drilling one row of the dimples out and and putting lights in that row and just lighing up the V like that. But that idea may not work.

Damon, I just recently bought an extra set of Cheese Wedges from a VOG member here and am going to drill the dimples out andinstall red LED light strips inside, then close out the back so that the light will only come through the V.I opted to buy someones unwanted wedges so if I don't like the look I can throw my undrilled ones back on.My intent is to not makethe closeouts permanent as I may wantto try them with the back open so as to light up the engine/bike more. I will be sure to post pics here but may take me awhile. I would like to get it done soon as riding season is here.

Here is a guy that does the LED in dimples. He lives near me. I have seen his work but he is not cheap.
OUCH!!!! I never thought that it would be that high. Not saying they don't do good work, but LED's aren't that expensive and I just can't see it being a $400.00 job. I don't think I will be going that route, but I will never say never. Thanks for the site and getting back with me. I appreciate it.

Getting some extra wedges is a good idea. I will look into that myself. Meanwhile if you know someone who has some they want to get rid of send them my way or let me know and I will contact them, if you don't mind. How do you plan on closing up the back? Someone posted on this thread yesterday and showed his pictures. He drilled out the holes and put soem LED's on the back of the wedge, which also backlit his engine and shined through the holes.. That is really not what I would like to do. Gambit gave me this website: http://www.roadhorsemotorcycleaccessories.com/custom-led-lighted-cheesecutter.html. This is what I would like to do, but I just can't see it being a $400.00 job like these guys are charging. But I am not saying I won't go with them either if I can't figure out a good way to do it myself. But what these guys have done is what I am wanting to do.

Thanks for getting back with me and I would like to see some pictures when you get your project done.

If I had 300 to spare I would get it done. His lights are very bright but there are other things I need done first. Hey??? If every VOG member sends me $1 I can get the work done! $1 is nothingamongfriends.

Good luck with that. I tried that on Face Book when I saw an orange Jackpot a few weeks ago at my local dealer. Still haven't gotten the first dime! I just can't see it being a $300.00 job, but I am sure they are very professional, but like you I have other things I want to do. Just priced the Stage 1 Exhaust and would like to have that done, but the dealer said you really don't notice the sound unless you are running through the gears. You won't hear any difference at idle or crusiing speed. So not sure that is worth it or not. I wish I could hear the Stage 1 exhaust so as to make up my mind.

ebay $5 for the LEDs, drill it, then put black RTV $5 behind LED's to prevent "backshine"...That $10 plus your time..easy peezy.

I had stage 1 pipes. Not much loader than stock so save the cash if you are looking for sound. I just swapped them for custom pipes made by my dealer. They are loud and no popping.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want loud. But would like a nice deep throated tone.

M y 2008 Victory Vision Tour SS Gray Custom (by ME) cheese wedge led's. Cost less than $20. for lights, solder , wire, 3m connectors etc but took about 4 hours to do the individual bulb installs. I put two amber on top and two red on bottom for a unique effect! Hope the pics show...
