If your tires stay on the ground, what's the point? If the rear lifted up and cleared the road I could see some use in it for making belt adjustments. If all it's for is to assist getting the bike vertical because the rider can't easily do that from a side stand then I would think the rider is on a bike that's too big for them.
 
If you wanted to lift the rear wheel up and was strong enough to get the beast up there you could place a 2x6 or 2x8 under the bike before setting it on the center stand. The extra height should lift the rear tire off the ground.
Having a ride-away center stand could have it's appeal if you want to sit on the bike while it warms up.

Thanks everyone I have the same problem as everyone trying to change oil as well as other small mantance jobs.I like the look of a bike on the stand compared to the side stand and I think it will give you some more surcurty when you park.in some places as well. Thanks.
