My brother just got his first 'bagger' and of COURSE it's got an 'ultimate' seat on it. He's looking to put some miles on ... lots of miles. My 07 KPT is a better bike IMO in almost every way except my ass. I do ok since most of my riding the past few years has been more local, not doing tank after tank in a day's time for days on end. Currently, I have a stock seat and I will throw a sheepskin on for 'day rides'. If I'm going on a little bit longer a trip I'll take my air seat pad (airhawk) with me for when my ass gets sore, but those are band-aids to the problem.
I want to know a good alternative seat that isn't a grand. I tried using a gel insert on my 09 KPT and that was the worst thing I've ever done to my ass.. I thought I was going to be crippled for life after one long day in the saddle. I do NOT want to sit any higher.. I'm tall waist up and even using the tallest shield from vic I'm still looking over the damn thing, so adding 6" of padding isn't an option. What are you guys using that works for you?
