I have a 2014 CC that I bought in October of 14. At about 2500 miles, I started to hear a noise that sounded like it was coming from the belt when I would sift down from 3rd two second gear. Seemed to do it more when the bike was cold. Being the last month of the full warranty I brought it in to the dealer and he told me that Vic wouldn't cover the belt adjustment because it was like a cable adjustment or a worn out tire. I reminded him that the manual doesn't call for an adjustment of the belt at 2500 or even the 4500 miles I have on it now. He said that it is an ongoing problem and that even if he adjusted it, it would need to be done every 2500 miles or so. I was like WHAT? he did get Vic to pay for it this time, but WTF? He also said they tried to fix it by using a composite belt, but it didn't work.

Any one else have this problem?

he's feeding you BS. Belt will stretch a 1/8 inch when first ride and never stretch after that.
Once the belt is adjusted properly you should never have to readjust it.
Victory use the same belt as harley except Vic's are wider. Yes there a composite belt all belts are to this day

If the axle nut isn't tightened properly or you take a bid hit (like a pot hole at high speed) the belt will need adjustment. It needs to be inspected per the maintenance schedule (I do mine at every oil change). Have not heard of any problems other than some dealers not knowing how to adjust it properly. Once its set CORRECTLY there should be no issues.

I've had two Victorys, the first one was Adjusted several times finally replaced the pully my CCT has been adjusted once but after new tires started again so I decided to try it myself. The biggest problem was making sure it was secure before jacking it up so it wouldn't tip over. It was a learning experience but I think I got it so it wouldn't rub on the outside of the pully couple hundred miles still quiet. I've taken my bike in several times and the dealer never charged for it.

I bought a Gunner new this year in August, took it to the stealer at 500 m. They changed the oil and said they checked all kinds of stuff including the belt . It was costly I thought for what they did. Over 200. The belt at that time was good, fast forward to November, bike setting in garage with 2400 miles on it, belt has at least 1 inch of travel, I am fully capable of tightening my own belt, but just for curiosity I asked the dealer about them adjusting, got the same answer. They could do it but at a price. I think that is a load of crap. 1900 miles after they so called adjusted it and it's loose again and they want to charge??? Enough of the robbery.
Bull S. On their part.

Buy yourself one of these (or equivalent):

Belt Tension Gauge | Motion Pro

Look in the service manual for instructions on how to adjust the belt. It is a half of a wrench project on a five wrench scale.

I try to check mine when I check my tire pressure.

Bike pulley temp has a lot to do with the belt.
If your dealer adjusted the belt when the pulleys were still hot the adjustment would have been inaccurate.
When I first got my Vision I checked the belt early in the cool morning with the belt tool because because if felt loose, The measurement showed it was within normal limits. FF to riding home from from work, the belt then felt guitar string tight with the hot pulleys.

Hi guys

For a newby is there a clip which you have come across that shows how to check belt tension. I know it is probably a basic easy thing to do.

Have looked and looked. Just that a moving picture is worth a thousand words.

Any help appreciated.

If you search" belt adjustment video " on here or YouTube you can find one.
Thanks Randy found one on YouTube which did show what needed to be done. Just goes to show putting in the right search string gets results.
Now understand the process and belt deflection tool use.
Thanks so much for your help.
