How can my clutch be burned up in 1100 miles? I never power shift and ride conservatively most of the time. Even Polaris wants to find out why since it may be a defect. At the dealer now waiting to find out what they find. I did hear a strange buzzing or whining noise from the primary while cruising along at about35 mph in traffic before the clutch started slipping. Anyone else have a clutch go bad so fast without abusing the bike? Yes the clutch cable was perfectly adjusted.

Wait for the report from polaris, probably a defective part that failed. These are machines and sometimes parts break.

I hope so. They told me most likely Polaris will cover it under warranty if they find anything defective, if not the dealer said they'll help me out with their 'good will program' whatever that is.

What caused it?
Dunno. Not sure the shop is that capable. Really nice folks, but it has been in the shop nowfor six weeks trying to get a brake switch. Scratched their,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,something for 3 weeks figuring out a light was burned out (faulty).

Really questioning the choice, but I seem to be in the minority, so FWIW

Good Luck

Seemslike I remember you posting that your bike had been jammed in 3rd gear and you had to slip the clutch to get it home? (like 3 miles in heavy traffic?) If that's the case, I would guess that had sumfin' to do with eatin' the clutch, but what ever jammed up the gear box in the first place needs to be checked out and fixed or ya gonna be eatin' another one.

Souds like you need to change shops. Thank you.

i bet the dealer neglected to adjust it right while assembling the bike. it happened to a guy here with less than 200 on the bike and the shop that did the repair was able to figure out exactly why it happened.

Yea, there lies the problem. This one is about an hour Strokers is about an hour and change and their "convenient" location really turns me off. I have decided they will do any performance mods if I ever get that itch, location or not.

Fortunately the bike is dandy as is. It can haul me, momma, the kitchen sink and just about any needs in comfort and capable of exceeding any posted speed limit I have seen, so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Lost my clutch by the 500 service and yes it was adjusted properly on the outside. I don't know how much playthey have on the internals but that would be my guess, or it just broke. Machinesdo that.

Best wishes
