I’m impressed that the 505 cams serve a BB motor well. It is a Big bore yes ? I’m going by your signature. I have 505 cams in my X1 and 501 cams in my XC. Due to the open exhaust in my X1 the 505 cams were recommended by Kevin X. I never thought they would be a choice for a BB
Yes, Lloydz BB 116:cool:

While I did that I also got the heads ported and installed forged valve springs, and with the 505`s i needed new machined cam "houses".
Bought "new" ones from Vic Guy and sent them straight to Rylan for modification:cool:

IIRC you went with the 505 because the 504 HPT weren’t available, right @Meisen ? Those are what historically have been suggested for the BB.

****!!! 504`s is what i got now, not 505`s @slickvic :p
That’s why I was questioning. You don’t need to clearance the carriers / covers with the 505 or 501 cams. I bet that bike is a beast.

There a no other Vics with BB kits in Norway that I know of so no other Vics to compare but I have zero problems smokin both my friends Breakouts, stock vics and a stock V-Rod:devilish:
And the bike is totally differant with the new underdrive pulley, i have an accelleration that no one can compare to!!!

But I must admit that the bike made even less razzling sounds from the valves and timing chains with the SAE60 Oil, ran the bike almost 500km with that oil, and in my opinion the best oil I ever had in the bike since the BB kit got innstalled, I`m just "affraid" of using it again since there is much negativity around it even no one else have tried it..........

Well you are trying and liking the 15/60. It is a big bore. There is more power. Some have no negative effects with it in their Thunder Stroke motors. The Scouts run it and I believe the Power Plus motors run it. So being a 15wt when cold is important for proper lubrication at start up. A straight 60 I would never do. If you continue to use the 60wt straight then a proper warm up is definitely needed before you start revving the motor.

Does not longer the straight 60w oil but it was no problem at all during the summer here in Norway.
Even in teh cold startups there was no problem at all, but seems for now I am gonna stick with the 15w-60 oil, less razzling sounds and teh engine sounds just great(y)
I remember in the instructions from Lloydz also that it says that always let the bike run on idle for a little while before revving ore riding in general(y)

A friend came over this weekend with her Jackpot. Brought her own Vic oil change kit. She had been asking me for well over a year to change her oil. She hasn’t ridden it much in that time but rode it an hour from her house my house. I was in the garage when she pulled up and the clatter from that bike had me a bit worried. I started draining process by carefully removing the buggered up drain plug. Then drained the oil into my 7qt shallow pan that fits perfectly under a Vic. While that was draining we had nice conversation. While I was prep I g my filter wrench for the oil filter removal. She looked at me and said “ Hey ! The oil is overflowing !! “
What could I do. It’s hot oil and luckily my floor had a high gloss finish so there would be no staining.
So wow !!! Over 7 qts of lord knows what oil was in this bike. A K&N filter and a messed up drain plug led me to believe someone didn’t know what they were doing and filled this bike up on the side stand. Still how can you get 7 qts of oil in this 100 Ci motor ?
Well the new Vic oil went in all along me joking with her and saying your 3 quarts short …. Wrong kit ! Lol.
Poor thing …. She didn’t have a clue and I didn’t beat up the obvious to her as I didn’t want her to worry. She had a 1 hr ride home and she was to tell me how the bike performed. She got home safely and said never has her motor felt so smooth and so much more quiet ! Go figure ???
