you folks that buy new and keep it for 10-20 years may not get this, for those of you who buy used and search the online ads it's standard fare...i have a trove of ads/pics of bikes that need a little "tlc"..."ran incredible before the accident"...been in storage for awhile and might need, new tires ($35 on ebay), carbs cleaned (utube video link), all new hoses ($35 on ebay), gaskets ($35 on ebay), drain all fluids and replace (utube link), something with the brakes but rear pads come with it, wiring harness (why he stopped riding it 6 years ago) front wheel has dent but holds air for several days, mirrors ($35 on ebay), and paint (i have a couple rattle cans i'll throw in if full price)...
or it's perfect and all it needs is an $8-$45 part to run as it stalls out if you touch the throttle you can get on ebay, he's just been too busy the last 6 years to do it himself...
my favorite is the pic of a totally disassembled bike with a set of white aftermarket fairings and a picture of the bike when it was new and the message that all you have to do is put it back together (might need a stator or regulator $35 on ebay) paint the fairings and buy a set of decals ($35 on ebay) and you'll have the bike in the picture...piece of cake...zing waiting for the results of the biopsies and getting antsy...
ps...been on cl for awhile this morning and it amazes me how the situations described above are ever present...zp...
pss...hitting 60 for next couple days and i'm getting the victory out for a ride...zing of the road...
