If I only replace the air filter with a Lloyds do I need to change anything else out to see gains?

Most of the Vics run lean from the factory so you have to richen it up. If you disconnect both O2's and put his filter in then yes, but the best way is to install a power commander 5 (PCV). I did the exhaust, vic performance filter, stage 1 flash first, then the timing wheel and unpluged, then modded the exhaust. I just got done with installing a PCV and Lloydz filter. The dyno is next.
I think it was Rylan that said you can add 1 power adder if you unplug. Exhaust, air filter, or timing wheel.

if you are doing the Lloyds filter ,i would recommend doing his timing wheel along with the power commander 5 and dyno the bike to make it all come together and run sweet ,along with having the best bang for bucks. I intend doing the same to my Cross Roads as soon as our Australia Dollar get stronger, I should have bought this while we were on par dollar for dollar with you guy. The worst thing for us here, is freight to Australia as it is so expensive via USPS . I also have stage one pipes so that should help also. The reason you would go with the timing wheel is that it can be adjusted upto 2,500 rpm where the power commander does not allow tuning under that rpm range.

To see gains, let's just say it's a very good idea. These bikes use narrow band O2 sensors and relatively arcane efi fuel mapping. It's not like a car where your engines computer will automatically adjust the fueling to match the air input. If you unplug your O2 sensors you trick your computer into staying in the slightly richer warm up program. But is that enough? The only real answer to that is a guess. Save up for the intake, timing wheel, fuel controller, and a dyno tune to set that fuel controller. It will be significantly better than a guess.

Mine ran very rough (smooth engine but the rest of the bike vibrated like who wrote it under way) after the install of the timing wheel and then worse after the Lloyds air filter. I ended up taking the timing wheel off and it helped things a lot.
All that for this. I have a Doebeck AFR+ gen 4. It is supposed to keep the A/F ratio in a certain range when set. Well it probably did that, but needed to be set a little richer for the set up I had acquired over time. Now all is smooth and I wonder if the timing wheel would be OK now, oh well too late. The lie-o-meter loves it, shows over 50 MPG, but calculated is in the 40 MPG range now.
Witchdoctors says a controller is recommended with the filter, and unplugging O2 sensors isn't always a guarantee, so, get a controller, with the filter. PCV will need a dyno and need redone after further upgrades, but yes you'll see gains and better throttle with the two. If your gonna do it, then go with the best bang for the buck. Pay me now or pay me later as the saying goes.
A few tuners are out there, so check them out and see what seems to be best for where you want to end up.

Welcome to the mayhem.
