I live near Flint, Michigan and have been shopping around for a dealership to perform the 500 mile service on my 2011 Cross Roads. The prices I'm being quoted range from as low as $229 up to $360 at a boutique dealership near Detroit. It seems as if these places just make up and number and see if people are willing to pay. Buying the service manual and doing it myself isn't an option at this time. Has anybody out there had good service at a fair price in the Southeast Michigan area? Thanks in advance.

They are expensive if done correctly. I just do my own. Not that hard.

I don't even want to tell you what I paid because you would call me a liar. Let's just say that my dealer treats me well. To give you an idea, I just had my second oil/filter change today at a total cost of $53.00.:10900: My lower left rear light bulb was replaced for free.

Damn, you just notice that? It's been my tag line for 2 weeks...lol But it is the truth, I was talking with some high school student the other day and they have know clue where anything is...

Same here in the great white north. I have been Quoted two hours labour at $90+ an hour plus oil change kit, plus shops fees at more than one place. I went out of province and paid $105 plus tax. Two hour drive one way but so worth the drive.

If they made an xbox game, or an iphone app that taught world geography, that would improve.

Would you care to name the dealership? I'm only a 90 mile ride to MI/OH border. Sounds like it may be worth the trip.

I could tell you a story, Don, when are you coming up for a visit? Ontario Facts: Southern route east to west is along the hwy 401 (513 mile or 826 km wide) corridor. The northern route east to west above the Great Lakes is 1,275 miles or 2,052 km. Eh Don, It has been a long time since The War of 1812.

Back to the Topic Well boiz-n-gurls, back to the topic at hand: The local shop rate has a big influence on the cost of the 500. I am waiting 1 week to have it in locally at a $60/hour rate instead of a $95/hour rate in Salt Lake City. The added 250 miles to get to SLC is a bummer for the warranty, and the added $ is not a good incentive either. I'll just wait 4 more days, then I can ride somewhere in peace. At the 500 for XCs/XRs, ask about checking the rear brake line (mentioned somewhere as loose and rubbing), the belt tension (I can feel mine is looser), and all the led bulbs (rear seem to go out or malfunction). The problems mentioned have been in various forums, here included.

My 500 mile check was about $280 (I think, I mentioned it somewhere else, but too lazy to search on my own). Shop charges $90 an hour for labor.

Bravo asked; Would you care to name the dealership? All Ohio Motorsports, but you have to have bought your bike from them to get those prices.

My 500 mile service was done by the boys at Volusia while at Daytona in 09. Showed up Monday morning while they were opening up. Took me right in after they had the doors opened. Cost me $100. Thats what my dealer in Maine charges me still.

$117 after tax at Tri-City in Utah! Like others have said it depends entirely on the shop rate. Victory service departments like most other manufacturers (auto and motorcycle) have set criteria that determines how much time a job takes. Most of the time (especially on warranty work) the jobs are finished early but they still charge based on the allowed number of hours. This is how they keep their doors open; dealers make much more money from service than from sales.

Poor me, I got well confused with this topic. In the UK the 500 mile service is completely free.
Yeah, but you drive on the wrong side of the road :tongue_smilie:

My 500 Mile service was free, I bought my 11 XC In Dec. from Motorsports of Dayton. When I stopped by to schedule an appointment for the 1st service, they said we can do it right now. When I inquired about the cost, they said since I bought the XC from them it was free! Ladies and Gentelmen you just can't beat that. This is what keeps you comming back for parts and accesories and service!!
