u sellin your house too?in other words a personal long time commitment to livin on the road. just me being curious.

Greetings, Yes. Eventually EVERYTHING but the dog will be sold. Bike, Cars, House, 40 years worth of accumulated sh!te, etc. It all has to go in the next 12~14 months...

There's a certain freedom to living vagabond style with few possessions and the ability to simply pick up and move within an hour or two. A lot of people are doing it in their retirement years. Learning to be a minimalist isn't easy for everyone. I don't think I could do it unless I had no choice. My hat's off to those who can. I'd want a home base to return to. That's not an easy thing either. Gotta worry about squatters and thieves when gone.

thats quite a commitment. not sure i could do that. would need a home for a base to call home per se'

man if i could i would. i have the money. but, thats a big heavy bike. 900lbs plus i am 70 and i think im at my comfort limit on my road king , which is 810 lbs. THATS ONE GR8 LOOKIN BIKE THOUGH!!!!!

So our State of DOMICILE will be South Dakota. That is not the same as home. However, we need to be registered somewhere (VOTING, STATE/FEDERAL mailbox, etc.) South D because, A:] No state income tax. B:] S.D.'s requirement for residency is one night a year. C:] There is a plethora of 'mail services' which will forward your mail, and give you an ADDRESS which is not just a "P.O. Box". Texas and a few other States will also do this. S.D. works for us. Our "Home" will likely always be Iowa, as we have kids, grandkids, all over Iowa, and it is where we have spent the majority of our lives. "Home" is will be 480 sq ft of 20k # worth of 5th wheel RV. Where hopefully (Good Lord willing), my biggest decision every day will be which road to ride or creek to kayak.
