You know, outside of innovative engineering,
Hmmm... Not sure about that statement, I would lean more to innovative design(style).
A Oil Cooled (BMW 1923) V-Twin (Indian 1903) with linked brakes (Matchless 1933) and ABS (BMW 1988).
Just saying...lol
I still love my bikes!
Bam! Nailed that one.
Since I'm prone to jumping in without all the facts too, AND there is some chance that the D stands for Devil in DDawg. I'll explain these biiig words real slow by using someone else's definitions:

INNOVATION (vs invention):

"Innovationis a change in the thought process for doing something, or the useful application of new inventions or discoveries.[1]It may refer to an incrementalemergentor radical and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organizations. FollowingSchumpeter(1934), contributors to the scholarly literature on innovation typically distinguish between invention, an idea made manifest, and innovation, ideas applied successfully in practice."

Hence, "Bam!" is the exact sound of the misfire that hits us in the head.

BTW, if DDawg DOES stand for Devil-Dawg thanks for your service, the 0311s and 0341s who have work with and for me were a breed apart even by our North American standards for bravery and brotherhood.
