I rode mine today.

I've never seen anyone use the auto feature to fill a motorcycle gas tank.
Glad you got it cleaned up.

And the never ending cleaning begins. Nothing looks worse than dirty whitewalls.

I changed oil and filter.

Serviced clutch cable ends. I do this every oil change.

I just loaded the bike, leaving tomorrow morning for Rolling Thunder Washington, DC

I rode 1800 miles in 5 days last week.
So today I washed it and then rode it.

Serviced both ends of the clutch cable. Tomorrow its oil change.

Im not sure how to check the actual codes. My code stayed on for about 30 seconds and I haven't seen it since. I will test it out again today. Not really liking the removal of the black wires from the plugs yet. Highway cruising, its smooth, but city driving it lugs and is a rough ride.
Keep your RPM above 2500 and it won't lug. These bikes like to rev.

Does the 8" antenna work as good as the stock antenna?
I have the 16 inch spiral wound antenna from auto zone. Have had it for 2 years works as good as factory antenna.

Thats always a good thing. I rode today in 40 degree weather with 22mph winds. Not very fun, but it was worth the quick trip.
Sunny & 70 today down here.

Had a new rear tire put on yesterday. Picked up a piece of glass and had a slow leak, that tire only had 8,000 miles on it. I got 17,000 mules on the other rear tire.

Damn that looks good.

Wow what a transformation......

Finally cleaned my Lloyd'z air filter. I have been dreading taking the tank off for fear of breaking something or damaging something. I also thought I'd just wait until I got new fuel filters or a new pump assembly. But I decided not to wait. While I had the tank off and filter was drying in the sun, I checked random bolts and screws. Found a missing screw that holds the cheese wedge cover bracket so ran over to Ace and bought a few extra.

When I got out of the store and started the bike, it backfired. Not sure what that was all about, but I'll keep an eye on it. Could air in the fuel line cause it? Anyway, it's all back together and nothing broke and nothing is leaking so I'm happy. Removing the tank was much easier than I thought it would be.
How dirty was it?
Like you I have been dreading taking the tank off.

Changed oil and filter and service clutch cable ends.
